To those who been praising LBJ as the next Jordan where was he when the game matter most? Missing 4 fts? Just fed up with all the talk about how great LBJ is after he made a lucky buzzer beater in game 2, Jordan is still the best nba player ever and Kobe is the next closest thing all these LBJ talk really drove me crazy the past few days, and for the record I followed box and went with ORL so its not like I lost money on them or anything just want to hear from those who's been sucking on LBJ the past 48 hrs to step it up and make a case for the chocker now...

Whats a chocker? Hmmm the game was still well within reach when LBJ went to the line for fts... two times he missed not one but both fts... come on u trying to convice me that is greatness? Missing both fts when your team has a chance to put pressue on the home team who at that point was obviuos just hanging on to their lead... had LBJ pushed it closer ORL would of played with a lot more pressure... LIke I said I had ORL and glad he missed, winning the money is nice but it really got me thinking is this guy really as good as so much made him to be the past 48 hours... he is a great player but to say he all a sudden surpassed Jordan is a joke, come on Jordan was clutched when it count most, although I do admit I did not watch all of Jordans career so I can only say from what I saw and know... and I agree with Killa the guys been in the league for many years, 24 or not I just don't see him as the new Jordan all a sudden just cus he had a amazing season and made a HUGE shot last game... he had loads of points but the real question is where were they when it countd the most?

The main problem I have with comparing ANYONE to Jordan is the fact that Jordan won what? 6, 7 titles or so? Do you know what kind of a competitor you have to be to keep going out there, and playing to that level and stay hungry for titles? The guy wasn't human.

Do you know how easy it is to win 2 or 3, and just go, "I'm the man, I have nothing left to prove....I'm going into cruise control for awhile." Until you look back, you are near retirement and you get hungry again. Jordan never lost his hunger to be the best.

He stayed hungry. He didn't want to just win championships, he wanted to obliterate basketball. He couldn't stand losing, and somehow that guy was just never satisfied.

IF......IF Lebron goes out there and wins 1 or 2 titles, will he stay hungry enough for 3? 4? 5? 6? Or will the human elemrnt set in and he goes into cruise control. Can he stay healthy enough?

It takes such a special person to win 6 or 7 titles. You have to be an extreme competitor and I haven't seen that from Lebron yet. I have seen it in Kobe however. But Kobe is not Jordan, either. But he's got the hunger.

Lebron > Kobe Talent Wise
Kobe > Lebron Hunger wise and competitor wise
Jordan > Everyone until PROVEN otherwise

I'm not comfortable with Lebron going out there tonight and missing 5 free throws in the 4th quarter. Those are FREE THROWS. He makes those free throws and it's a whole different ball game. Where's the killer instinct? Where's the CONSISTENCY? If you're the best ever you don't miss those shots. It's not even an option to miss those shots.

Comparing Lebron to Jordan is so premature it's not even funny.

Wow, you are so dense. I believe the word you are searching for is "choker". I don't believe chocker is even a word, and please if you're going to scrutinize the man at least spell his name right. LEbron James!

LeBron was 18-24 from the line. Funny thing is, all his misses where in the 4th qtr when the game was on the line.

No way should anyone put Lebron in the same sentence as MJ. Even though the kid is only 24, he still hasn't proved he can win in the finals. Isn't that where it all counts? I don't see Lebron winning any championships till he's about 26-27. Especially with the team that he has. Wade on the other hand had better team players in Mourning, Shaq, Haslem, the Glove, J Williams, and Posey off the bench. Who does Lebron got... Joe Smith, Wally Z?

yep. way too much hype going on nowadays. since when do you start handing out awards for potentially being the best? with that said, lebron is still out of this world. man playing amongst boys. the irony in that...

Totally agree with you Mikeyboi. I'm tired of the LBJ talk and comparisons. I would actually compare Lebron more to Magic Johnson than Kobe or Jordan. Lebron is still learning, he didn't pick it up on defense until this season - after he saw Kobe's work ethic last summer with team USA. He relies mainly on his amazing athleticism and power to score, his fundamentals and bball IQ are not as good as Kobe/Jordan.

There are still many questions about Lebron. What will happen when Lebron gets Kobe's age and loses some of his athleticism? Will Lebron win a championship? Will he be a deadly closer like Kobe?

I'm a Jordan hater and Laker fan, and I can still be unbiased unlike all you Kobe haters out there. Like Mikeyboi said, Jordan is the best and Kobe is the closest thing right now.

Much like the NFL the NBA changes from season to season, year to year, to even attempt to compare any current NBA player to Jordon is like pissing into the wind; it is a argument that cannot be won or lost for that matter. To make a comparison between Kobe and James is something that can be done but you will never be able to compare apples to apples or oranges to oranges for that matter.

how many years did it take mj to win his 1st ring? how old was he @ the time? don't penalize lbj for coming out of high school to be one of the best as a teenager. it only adds to his greatness. i believe that @ 24, mj was with a weak supporting cast, and no rings either. i don't think its fair to define lbj's career on 2 missed free throws. he's still a kid. but when gambers lose $, they gotta lash out, right? ( btw, i lost yesterday too)

His supportng cast does'nt have anything to do with him being a clutch player. At 24 it was only MJs 3rd year in the league and was avging 37 pts, 3 stls, 1.5 blks a game and was a very clutch player. MJ was better at 24 in his 3rd year than LeBrons 24 with 6 years experiance. LeBron is no where near the player MJ was with 6 years experiance.
