I thought future HOFer Andruw Jones had a bad season last year, but this Ortiz thing is getting ugly. It almost hurts watching him play right now.
Jones seems to betting getting somewhat on track again although not nearly to his past level.

At least it looks like AJ is going to get those 400 homers now and when you add in the 10+ gold gloves will easily get him into the HOF but if Ortiz does not turn it around im not sure if he has done quite enough yet.

So far neither player has been on any steriod list yet.

Andruw really had two bad seasons in a row. His last yr w/the Braves and of course his Dodger yr. I am totally surprised he has been somewhat productive this season w/the Rangers.

Ortiz is falling fast. He may never recover. I don't think there is a market for a DH who can't hit

Good point about the DH.

It could get so bad that he will be totally out of the league by the end of the season.

I think Boston will give him until the trade deadline to get better, if not I think they will find a replacement and his career will be over I think.

No HOF for Ortiz.

Did not do it long enough

No HOF for Jones either....just wasn't good enough...he was an outstanding player, just not HOF quality...

Tonight in the Yankees 12-3 game against the Rangers...

"Hall of Famer" Andruw Jones was just warming up the mighty Warner Madrigal at catcher between innings.

Yes...of course...Hall of Fame players...play bullpen catcher, on his/her night off from their "spot" start OF gig. Teagarden probably was in the can.

I hope Ortiz will be George Kattaras' "Im taking a dump" mid inning replacement next season.

One big difference between these two players is that even when Andruw struggled at the plate in his last season in Atlanta he still could play an above average centerfield. Big Papi is a man w/out a position.

Andruw is 32 and hit the wall 2 seasons ago. If hadn't, he would have definitly been a HOF player. He would have reached 500 home runs and he would have won more Gold Gloves. With that said, he was on pace for the Hall, but not now.
