The Yankees are in first place in the AL East and should remain there for the rest of the year

Holy crap, even with mediocre pitching this is wrapped up by Labor Day.
This lineup can score runs in a coma for the love of God, and idiot like Girardi can get this team to the WS.

Hey with that payroll they better win it all this year. The best team money can buy. That truly is a pretty sick lineup when you think about it.

I know, I'm a lifelong Yankee fan (can't stand Girardi)
Seems like for the past three weeks, Jeter is getting his second at bat in the third inning, sometimes the second.

Not a big Girardi fan either. You and I could probably manage this team and still win.

Torre would have gotten that team last year to the playoffs.
Steiny kids were fuming when LA made it to the second round, tough, never should have fired him.

GS fired the best coach in baseball IMO...they had injuries and a bad run of luck and he got pissed off and made a terrible impulse move. Imagine what this team they have now could do with some actual leadership and direction?!??!

And even though you won't hear it publicly, half the team hates Girardi.
Moose? He would have come back for two more years with either Mattingly or Torre.
Pettitte, doesn't like Girardi, and came *this* close to retiring also, the vets don't like his style, and the rooks have no choice.

Torre was not fired, he refused to resign a one year contract

What is the best place for in-season World Series odds?

Pray like hell that A-Roid doesn't test positive. Until he showed up Texeira was hitting .198 and the team wasn't shit; since then, Texeira's hitting around .370 and they're playing .750 ball.

I know Tom, but call it what you want, that offer was a slap in the face, and was designed so management could 'save face'.
They knew damn well that one year insulting deal was not going to be accepted, so instead of canning Joe, they offered him something he could refuse.

Like I said, call it what you want, I call it a firing.

I'm a yanks fan, so would love for them to stay in first, but its prob the toughest division in baseball and could be plenty of competition from every team except the O's. Big fan of Torre...Girardi and Cashman not so much. Cashman spends close to a billion dollars on the infield, but couldn't give Abreu $5mil or Pavano $1 mil? Anyways, i think Matsui is all but washed up, Nady coming back will prob take a lot of his at bats away.

I'm a HUGE Yanks fan and a HUGE critic of them.

I still don't trust their middle relief and I don't trust Rivera if he has to go more than one inning.

I don't understand why the Yanks have not been trying to work someone to eventually replace Rivera.

They did, his name was Joba but moved him to a starter

If they are not going to move Joba back to the pen, SD is willing to give up Heath Bell,(he's be great setting up Mo) I am sure Cashman can come up with a package that SD would go for

To many people still think Rivera is in his Mid 1990's form. He scares me whenever he takes the mound.

I agree, Joba was a perfect replacement.

Still think Boston wins it-

Beckett sucked to date

Lester sucked to date

Dice K sucked to date

PAPI sucks Donkey dick all year

No Short stop all year

All this and they are a game behind- Still think pitching wins and the Sox have a much stronger bull pen--

They play in a sandbox that it worse than the HR parks in Philly, Colorado, and Cincy...broken bats go deep in New York and it will only get worse when it really heats up in the summer...
