It used to be that going somewhere like travelocity, orbitz and the like was the place to go.

Now, I find the best deal often is the airline's website themselves.

If you use priceline, towards the bottom of the screen is an area where you can bid for a fare, hotel, car. I've gotten some great deals. You can also bid for a vacation package. I bid for one in Florida, and got one that included hotel and rental car for the same price I would have paid for airfare alone.

When you bid, is it the same thing as their flights where you have no clue how many stops or what time of the day you are leaving?

You could also buy a round-trip voucher for $200 on ebay for US Airways, and use that for the flight.

just flew from houston to Vegas round trip on contininal for $227. ButI normally fly southwest and do the funjet vaction package with hotel for alot less than you can do the hotel for by it self.

i was on kayak yesterday, the flight i wanted for times that worked well was 249, looked back today and had dropped down to $219 non stop, had to book it. thanks

Kayak is a good multi-search site. Mobissimo is another good one (http://mobissimo.com). I like their interface and returns a little better than Kayak.
