I like the hitters on the Tigers squad & I had them yesterday to win (but lost). It seems the Tigers are a hit & miss team.I'm playing on the 2nd game of this series.

The Sox send Josh Beckett to the mound who is coming off a dominating start against Minnesota and another verse the Mets. He is 5-2 on the year with a 4.50 ERA. This game is set up beautifully for Beckett and his fellow Sox. On the road this year he has a 2.85 ERA. In his only start against Detroit this year, Beckett went seven innings strong allowing only one run on six hits and picked up the victory.

The Tigers are 28-22 this season and sit in first place in the AL Central. The Tigers send Armando Galarraga to the mound tonight and he has been just awful this season. After last years promising season, Armando has gone 3-5 so far with a 5.50 ERA. He has been equally as bad at home as he has on the road. Here is the stat that will solidify your bet. Galarraga is 3-0 with an earned run average of 3.15 during DAY games. He is 0-5 with an earned run average of 6.88 during NIGHT games. Any questions?

Boston is 6-2 in their last eight games against Detroit. The Tigers are 8-3 in their last 11 home games..
The Red Sox are 7-1 in Beckett's last eight starts vs. the AL Central. They have won four of his last five overall and the only loss was a ND on a Saturday night at Fenway when Papelbon served up a two out, two run HR to blow it. They are 21-8 in Beckett's last 29 starts as a road favorite and are 25-12 in his last 37 road starts. Galaragga has stunk for the Tigers and they have won just one of his last six outings.Boston starter Josh Beckett is 2-0 with a 1.23 ERA in his last three outings, while Detroit’s Armando Galarraga went 0-5 with a bloated 8.49 ERA in his six May starts.

I look for the Boston Baked Beans to take this tea party tonight in the Motor City.

Texas at NY Yankees

The red-hot Yankees, on a 16-4 run, resume their series against Texas in the Bronx, where they’ve won nine of their last 11.New York is scalding hot right now. With last night’s 12-3 beatdown of the Rangers, the Bronx Bombers are on a 17-5 roll, including winning three of four against the Rangers and nine of 11 at home.
Tonight, the Yanks send Andy Pettitte to the mound, and while the veteran southpaw hasn’t exactly been dominating to this point, he has been consistent and New York is 8-2 in his 10 starts, including 4-0 in the last four. The Yanks are also 4-1 when Pettitte starts at home, giving him 6.6 runs of support.

Texas continues to struggle against the Yankees, not only losing three of the first four clashes this season, but 24 of the last 32 meetings overall, including 11 of the last 16 in the Bronx.

CHECK THIS OUT!!

New York (31-21, +1.5) is 21-3 in home games with a hot bullpen whose WHIP is under 1.000 the last five games and Andy Pettitte (5-1, 4.10 ERA, 1.461 WHIP) will try to continue to ease the strain on the pen. The veteran left-hander has won last three decisions and the team has won the last five times Pettitte was the starter. They will face a good pitcher in Scott Feldman (4-0, 3.91, 1.180), who is 4-0 with a 2.59 ERA in seven starts after being used out of the bullpen for the first two weeks of the season.

Unfortunately for Feldman and Texas, the odds may be stacked against them with this super situation.

(Baseball system play) Play Against all underdogs with a money line of +150 or more, after a game where the bullpen was rocked for five or more earned runs, against opponent with a hot bullpen who’s WHIP is under 1.200 the last 10 games.

It also doesn't help that their main-man Josh Hamilton is on the DL. (ouch!!)

I think the Yanks rock-n-roll tonight mallers.....
