and have only lost 2 lbs. Im 5'10 and weigh 199 lbs. I have not been very active in the last 3 years and have gone from 170lbs to 201. Im in my early 30's. When I was in my 20's if I needed to lose 10 lbs I could run around the block every day for a week and I was set. I eat the same shit almost daily- chicken cooked in orange juice, brown rice, peas (no salt added). I pour 75% of my glass with water and top it off with some juice. I eat tons of fruit. When I first started running last month I could only last a little over a mile but i have built that up to 3 miles a day. I want to lose 20lbs by september but at this pace (2 lbs a month) it will never hapen. WTF?

Just go on the low carb diet for a month and drop the shit real quick. Then continue to exercise and eat healthy after you drop the pounds to keep the weight off.

A diet like that isn't sustainable, your taste buds must hate you.

I eat tons of fruit.
Stop doing that. Sugar in any form, including fructose, is your enemy.

It will easily happen by August if you do the following:

1. Stop only running, you're putting your body into a catabolic state.

2. Lift weights first and then do 20-30 minutes of HIIT cardio max.

3. Clean up your diet. Eat a mixture of the following

- Turkey
- Chicken
- Tuna
- Lean beef
- Salmon
- Oats
- Beans
- Hummus
- Quinoa
- Broccoli, green beans, and carrots
- Olive oil
- Almonds and/or mixed raw nuts
- Low fat cheese
- Light mayo
- Blueberries, cranberries, and raspberries
- Greek yogurt
- Honey
- Green tea

Don't eat processed carbs.. crackers, cookies, dry pasta, etc.. anything that comes in a box. Also, avoid enriched flour and even wheat if you can.

And don't be afraid of fat. Fat doesn't make you fat, excess calories do.

Shoot for either a 50/30/20 or 40/40/20 % ratio (Fat/Protein/Carbs).

Hipptli11ers diet is for real....also check your testosterone level.
I am 48 years old and last year I was tested that of a 81 year old man.
My doctor put me on Testum 1% cream,,...in which I put on my arms and chest every morning.
Since then, My testosterone has gone up 500%...I wake to wood every morning weather I like it or not and I have dropped 28 pounds in 1 year....all mussle now very little body fat..........Testosterone runs your soul buddy....get it checked.

Bet the dogs- is that the same stuff that Barry Bonds was taking that they were calling "the clear". I have always half jokingly said that if I can get my hands on some of those steroids that you just rub on your body and dont have to use a needle I would do it.

your metabolism actually starts slowing down in your 30's that is one problem, but if you put on some muscle it helps deter your metabolism..... High protien works, but everytime I get off I gain the weight back you are lucky because you don't work out so if you do, you should see a difference in about 6 weeks because it will be a shock to your system another good idea is workout in the morning on an empty stomach

I used some of that from my dad and it is true wood every morning I felt like an 18 year old I think it helped me impregnate wife (oops) I love that stuff

I had no choice fortunatly!
I HAD to take it.

Also, for the record....I never thought I would take up exercise so much......
I use my bo-flex every night after work every night and bought a roadbike in which I ride 50 to 100 miles a week.
The results are great.
Barry Bonds shit or not I had NO choice.

Bet them dogs, I didnt mean to make it sound like you were on steroids. I just remember bonds being on a testosterone booster cream like substance. This is probably the subject of a whole different thread and I have never taken steroids but I have read enough info that I believe they are probably very beneficial if used correctly along with hgh. Look at Stallone, hes on both and has lived longer than most men in my familly. I didnt know low testosterone could be life threatining?

are you doing any lifting? Try and do some weight training if you can. That will help accelerate your weight loss than just doing running alone.

When u 1st start working out and losing weight you have to take into consideration that while u are losing fat you are gaining muscle....So in the early stages you may not lose very much overall weight evn though you are dropping a lot of fat.....You need to measure you bodyfat and then watch that as your measurement and not your overall weight.
A 250lb man with 10% bodyfat is much healthier than a 200lb man with say 18%

Run 5000m every morning, eat nothing but tuna, egg whites and metamucil

Or remember that it took three years to fuck yourself up, so it will likely take more than four months to unfuck yourself

Anyone who takes any cream, clear, pill, powder or injection is a steroid user, cheater and asshole exactly like Barry Bonds was

I meant to ask, how many meals do you eat per day? It's best to eat 6 smaller meals in a day than 3 bigger ones. Also make sure you eat a good breakfast.

What do you typically eat everyday besides the chicken?

Also I would probably cut out the juice. Even if it's just a little. The only time you should have juice is after working out...if you want to have some.

As mentioned above, add some weights to your training (if you are, you might be losing fat and gaining muscle, not a bad thing).

If you only are doing cardio you might end up with a smaller but still fat version of yourself. Weight training speeds up the fat loss, so add weights to your training.

HIIT was mentioned, do that too. Instead of running at the same speed, try jogging for awhile, then during that run sprint for 60 seconds (or as fast as you can) then jog for 60 seconds, then sprint, so that at least 5 times or until you will puke. That will help you keep your muscle and shock you body too. Dont just run the same distance at the same speed over and over.

Oh and if you didn't see it obove, LIFT WEIGHTS!

Natural peanut butter (i.e. no sugar)
Walnuts and pecans
Spinach
Red, green, and yellow bell peppers
Green apples
Pickles
Flax seed

Shop only the perimeter of your grocery store.. avoid the aisles.

Plenty of tasty things to eat and your body will soon start craving only such whole foods as listed. This isn't a "diet", you should be taking in at least 2.5K calories per day at your height and age. It's not about how much you weigh, it's about your body composition. Don't become "skinny fat" where you cut weight only by running yourself to death, but not adding any muscle. It's a terrible look to have.
