Anyone else liking this?

Both teams are good offensively. Despite Verlander's ERA and solid outings recently, he is still facing the Angels, who are hitting .277 this year. Verlander went 5 innings vs. the Angels giving up 9 hits, 7 ER, 2 BB, and had 5 K's. Since then he has been dominating; going 48.1 IP and allowing only 7 earned runs in that span, and 65 K's as well. But with the Tigers offense, three of Verlander's last 4 games have gone over tonights total. Detroit's bullpen is solid, so we may not be expecting more than a run from there, but it won't be hard for Verlander to give up 3 or 4 earned runs in 6.2 IP.

On the mound for the Angels is E. Santana, who is curently sporting an ERA of 9.50. He has 9 walks in 18 innings, and just 11 strikeouts in that span as well. He has given up 31 hits in those 18 innings, which is getting close to 2 hits allowed per inning pitched. In his last two starts, Santana has been hit hard; allowing 7 earned runs in 1.0 IP, and then 8 earned runs in his next start getting through 5.0 IP. Those two games were against the White Sox and the Mariners, who are easily in the bottom third of the league offensively.

If this game becomes a 4-4 tie, then we will win our bets as well going over the 8.5 total. I see Detroit putting up atleast 6 tonight, and I think LAA will score 3+

$ Prediction: LAA 4 DET 7 $

Yeah. I don't understand how there has only been 3 total hits through 4 innings. I understand Verlanders numbers tonight, but how is Santana throwing so well?
