Well boys, I was out running Saturday morning errands and caught some of a local sports radio show that covers all local pro teams.

And they were discussing the "well known info" that David Price is likely to be on a pitch count today of 50 to 60 pitches maximum.

"Well known" meaning that everyone in the clubhouse is talking it, but neither the Rays nor Joe Maddon have made any formal declaration to the beat writers.

This jives with what they were doing with him in Durham (AAA).

All in all, not likely a bad deal since Rays long man Lance Cormier has been extremely consistent in the first two months of the season.

He's worked 37 IP with a 2.19 ERA and 1.05 WHIP

Additionally, lefty JP Howell is in steady form with 27 IP and a 2.28 ERA and his own 1.05 WHIP

Think this could mean Price into the 4th inning, followed by Cormier for three and Howell for two (ideally)

And yes, I'm aware that in Price's first two starts he fired 100 and 108 pitches respectively.

I think given the 100% availability of the bullpen and the fact that pen did not work much during the past week of snuffing the Royals and Twins, Maddon is going to play it conservatively.

i hate the Yank-me's, but the Yanks have been drilling lefties and the TB pen is terrible.

tempted to play the rl on the yanks.

The Rays mgmt had been keeping him to a 50 to 60 pitch count down at AAA because they just want to protect his arm while he continues to learn a decent change up to go with his smoking fastball and decent curve.

He was brought up mainly because Kazmir went on DL and word is that after those first two decent outings (stats wise) they want to rein him in a bit.

Plus they honestly want to get the bullpen some work as the starters just rolled through MIN and KC over past six games and also Rays had two off days.

Think that if you will....

As I noted in my lead post, both Cormier and Howell have been stifling in first two months.

I'm using Rays ML as part of a rather small 2TP (with Texas)

Best to you however you elect to proceed

i hate the Yank-me's, year in and year out they fuck me.
Every year i say i will never bet on them again and yet i do. I swear i probably only bet on them 10 times or less each season cause of my hatred for them and damn near every time i do decide to play them they get bitch slapped.

fuck i hate those fuckers!!!

I already knew the sports radio station that offered up that info this morning was the lower budget of the three in town.....But now I'm sending them a note and reminding them that making that kind of "pretty sure thing" announcement detracts from everyone wanting to follow the game for any reason.
