Now 3-0 on my 10K plays this year and with my great 3-0 day yesterday, I could not be having a better year so far. I am up huge amounts of cash with my Pinnacle account and I will be making withdrawal later this afternoon to assure some sort of positive return from all these winning plays and for now I will continue to pound away on plays with whatever I have left in that account. What can I say? Things have been going very well for me and I don't expect them to stop anytime soon. I know this is not going to be an easy play for some of you but I have had my eye on it for quite some time and I have decided to drop $5000 on the following play tonight with a bit more brains than the one I unloaded on Sunday:

Washington Nationals ML +105

I know it's very hard for some of you to bet on one of the worst teams in recent baseball memory but please keep in mind that when I picked them against the NY Mets on Sunday, I made a big time mistake of going against one of the best teams in baseball with a red hot pitcher on the mound and I won't be making that mistake again. Right now Cincinnati is 30-27 on the season and they are 3rd in the NL Central but they are not a good team and this would be as good a time as any to remind you all where exactly the Reds rank in many MLB offensive categories:

Cincinnati Reds

23rd in MLB Batting Average (Washington is 15th)
20th in MLB Slugging Percentage (Washington is 11th)
21st in MLB On Base Percentage (Washington is 8th)
25th in MLB Base Hits (Washington is 14th)
22nd in MLB Runs Scored (Washington is 17th)

So despite the Nationals 3-2 loss to Cincinnati last night if there was ever a team they could beat or that they match up well against offensively (which has not been the problem this year), it would be the Reds and seeing how they lost a close game against the Reds TOP pitcher last night, you would think this is the game they are going to win.

KEEP THAT IN MIND PLEASE, the Nationals lost 3-2 against Cincinnati's best pitcher so tonight should be a lot different.

On the mound for our money boys tonight is Shairon Martis who has 5 wins and only 1 loss on the season and who has arguably been the Nationals best option when it comes to betting on the MoneyLine in hopes of winning some cash. Alright let me break things down for you guys because I know a lot of you are concerned with betting on a guy who has a 5.31 ERA on the season so let me put your mind at ease a bit here. Martis has shown both a Jekyll side to him and he has shown us his Hyde side. Which one are we going to get tonight? Please understand right now that Martis is a good pitcher and he has some great stuff that needs a bit of work but he is good. MARTIS HAS PROBLEMS AGAINST LEFT HANDED BATTERS but he is lights motherfucking out against guys who bat from the right side. Don't believe me?

Shairon Martis vs. Left Handed Batters:
45 Hits allowed, 1.98 WHIP, Opponents batting .324 against him

Shairon Martis vs. Right Handed Batters: 17 Hits allowed, 0.82 WHIP, Opponents batting .172 against him

Already you see the immense difference between the way he pitches against guys who bat from the right side and guys who bat from the left side. So it's natural that he is going to struggle against lineups that are stacked with switch hitters and/or left handed batters and below you will find a perfect example of what I am talking about:

Shairon Martis vs. Philadelphia on May 30

9-6 Loss, 4.0 IP, 7 ER's with 2 Home Runs allowed

Jimmy Rollins (Switch Hitter) = 2 for 5, 1 Stolen Base
Shane Victorino (Switch Hitter) = 2 for 4, 2 Runs scored, 1 Stolen Base
Chase Utley (Left-Handed Hitter) = 1 for 3, 1 Stolen Base
Ryan Howard (Left-Handed Hitter) = 2 for 5, 2 HR's, 5 RBI's
Jayson Werth (Right-Handed Hitter) = 1 for 5, 2 Strikeouts
Pedro Feliz (Right-Handed Hitter) = 0 for 4

***EXPLANATION OF THIS LOSS*** We all know by now that the Phillies lineup is stacked with left handed bats and that is a huge reason why Martis struggled to get some outs. It's a small sample but again he has big time problems against guys who bat from the left side so it's a good idea to keep in mind that is a fade against left handed batting lineups and he is a play against lineups who have a bunch of righties. By now you probably guessed right if you guessed that Cincinnati has a lineup loaded with rightiesand you have to see what I mean:

Cincinnati's Potential Lineup Tonight

Jay Bruce (Left-Handed Batter) but is batting only .213 this season
Brandon Phillips (Right-Handed Batter)
Ramon Hernandez (Right-Handed Batter)
Willy Taveras (Right-Handed Batter)
Jerry Hairston Jr. (Right-Handed Batter)
Alex Gonzalez (Right-Handed Batter)
Laynce Nix (Left-Handed Batter)
Chris Dickerson (Left-Handed Batter)
Adam Rosales (Right-Handed Batter)
Ryan Hanigan (Right-Handed Batter)
Paul Janish (Right-Handed Batter)
Jonny Gomes (Right-Handed Batter)

Do you get my point yet or what? NOT A SINGLE SWITCH HITTER IN THIS LINEUP AND ONLY 3 PLAYERS BATTING FROM THE LEFT SIDE. Joey Votto is one of the best players in the NL and he bats from the left side but he is out tonight and is on the DL with some serious head issues so that's a big time bonus for us. Martis has been knocking out right handed batters all season long and this should be no different. He loves pitching at home as indicated below:

Shairon Martis Away Starts: 5 Starts, 2-1 Record, 7.77 ERA, 1.81 WHIP, Opponents batting .313 against him

Shairon Martis Home Starts: 6 Starts, 3-0 Record, 3.76 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, Opponents batting .223 against him

Nothing else to say. You already know he loves facing righties, he has demolished right handed batters all season long, he is cash money against this type of lineup and there is staggering difference between his pitching numbers at home and his pitching numbers on the road.

Now we move onto our big ape friend pitching for the Cincinnati Reds tonight as Aaron Harang is on the mound and despite being a decent pitcher over the years, he is actually one of my favorite fades right now. Make no mistake about it, the Reds have lost two straight games when Harang is the starter and his last three starts have been as astrocious as it gets in baseball this year:

Aaron Harang LAST 3 STARTS

1-2 Record, 17.1 IP's, 30 Hits Allowed, 14 ER's, 5 HR's and only 13 Strikeouts

He is ice cold right now and believe it or not, hitting has not been the problem for the Nats team this season (as indicated above where I point out that Washington is a lot better offensively than the Reds are). So with the expected ace performance by Shairon Martis tonight, I expect the Nationals to get enough runs off Harang for them to win this game. Make no mistake about it, Harang does not pitch well on the road and he does not like facing the Nationals. First of all checkout his numbers away from home:

Aaron Harang Home Starts: 6 Starts, 4-2 Record, 2.84 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, Opponents batting .253 against him

Aaron Harang Away Starts: 6 Starts, 1-4 Record, 5.35 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, Opponents batting .321 against him

WOW WOW WOW! Huge huge difference in numbers there and instead of posting more stats I can also tell you right now that Harang has an ERA of 1.38 in 4 daytime starts this season compared to an ERA of 5.51 in 8 night time starts this season. How about that for you Cincinnati backers? Both right and left handed batters have had success against Harang who seems to be giving up quite a few long balls lately. Sure it's only Washington but like I said before, the Nats rank high in several offensive categories in the NL this season and they are definitely the BIG PLAY tonight seeing who they have on the mound and how Harang has pitched against this team in the past. You forgot about that didn't you? Check it out then:

Aaron Harang Starts vs. Washington (Career)

3 Starts, 0-1 Record, 14.2 IP's, 11 ER's, 6.75 ERA, 2.05 WHIP, Nationals batting .387 against him

Yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiikes this is big time trouble for Harang tonight and I am going to remind you guys one more time that Washington has a very strong pitcher on the mound tonight that loves right handed lineups and he is getting one of those lineups tonight. So with the run support I expect him to get here, the Nats should seriously steamroll the Reds in this game, no doubt about it. Like I said before, some of the Nats have nice career numbers against Harang and that should prove to be the difference:

vs. Aaron Harang (Career At Bats)

Ryan Zimmerman is 1 for 2 with a Double
Nick Johnson is 3 for 3 with 2 Doubles and 1 Home Run
Cristian Guzman is 1 for 3
Josh Willingham is 3 for 7 with 1 Home Run
Ronnie Belliard is 7 for 16 with 1 Double and 6 Singles

A lot of the other guys have never faced him or don't have the best numbers against Harang but I think this lineup is going to do some damage tonight and that is no doubt going to be enough to get the Nationals their 16th win of the season and Martis is going to have won 6 of those 16 so by now you understand that the only time you can really bet on this team is when he is on the mound. If you are not convinced by now I just don't know what to tell you guys. How about some added facts:

  • Cincinnati has won only 3 of their last 10 versus a right handed starter

  • Cincinnati has won only 2 of their last 10 road games versus a right handed starter

  • Cincinnati has won only 5 of Harang's last 21 road starts

  • Cincinnati is 0-6 in Harang's last six road starts

  • Washington has won 4 of the 5 games Martis has started as a home underdog

  • Washington has won 5 of Martis' 7 home starts

  • Cincinnati is 1-6 in their last 7 games played in Washington

My time is up boys and girls. I will no doubt have another 1-2 plays for tonight, just have not made up my mind on what those plays might be or when I will have the chance to post them here. I don't know how you don't love the Nationals after my writeup here today and if you are still not convinced that they are going to win, go bet on some cricket or some shit. IF YOU GOT BALLS AND YOU LOVE MONEY...HOLLA AT YOUR BOY and bank this shit before the line moves too much.
