for Kobe haters

Consider this. Would you rather have the NBA be full of fiercely intense competitors like Kobe who go balls out game in game out even in the regular season or guys that have just as much physical gifts like Vince Carter or my former favorite Tracy Mcgrady who are just a bunch of overpaid, soft, lazy injury prone pros?

Those 2 guys mentioned above whined about not going all out in certain games or that the NBA broke their body down and now they have to protect themselves and ''play smarter'' crap like that. Give me a break. What a waste of talent.

Guys like Kobe, Iverson, etc, go at it hard every game and you can see it on their face that they want to win badly. I can admire that. Not to mention the shows they put on. I tune in to watch men compete all out, I'd rather see a guy throw elbows than a guy play halfheartedly.

Also, everyone's talking about the elbow. What about the no class, cheap foul that useless dumbass Pietrus committed on Gasol at the end? That was when the game was basically over too.

Anyways, I doubt a rich, talented superstar like Kobe gives a damn about some haters, he's out there to win games and that's all he cares about and that's great.

Just like Jordan, Lebron, Magic, etc, Kobe has brought in his own fan base and new fans to the game all because they want to tune in to see him. He's done a lot for the NBA and he gives back by playing hard every game and putting on a show.

No doubt Kobe is a great player and plays hard. But you can do it without the cheap elbows.

For somebody who is trying to mimick Jordan in every way possible, he does a fairly bad job of relying on his teammates.

Another thread showed a link to a site that calculated last second shots for the last 5 years. Kobe was 14-56 shooting, 12-15 ft's, 5 turnovers and 1 assist. Nearly 70 last second moments tied or trailing by 1 or 2, and he has only 1 assist??? Even a much less mature LeBron has 6 assists in the same situations.

He is too self centered, and wants the attention only to himself. That's not the correct way to play basketball. Not MJ like either (see Steve Kerr against the Jazz). Every great player has haters, but he has brought more upon himself with his self centeredness and cheap shots.

One thing I can agree on with you is there never was and never will be another Jordan. I feel bad for some kids today that never got to see him play.

Kobe has not done crap this NBA finals or last NBA finals. He had a very good game 1 and since then he has actually hurt his team more than help.

When Kobe has a good game everyone calls him "the closer" and when he has several bad games, Kobe is too tired. The hype for him is overblown.

The Magic havent closed out games, otherwise it would be 3-1 Magic. Last night was the Magic choking rather than the Lakers winning the game. The Magic hit their foul shots and it is over.

When I evaluate a basketball player as the best ever you better show up in the NBA Finals in the 4th quarter and Kobe has been horrid in the 4th. Any great player in any sport that is known as one of, if not the best player has stepped it up in the last quarter in the biggest game (Montana, Brady, Jordan etc.). Kobe Bryant has had two bad NBA finals in a row and has had 3 bad 4th quarters in a row. People hyped as the "CLOSER" dont do that.

That article's right on the money.

"You're going to have to work with me on this one, but he reminds me of Daniel Day-Lewis in "There Will Be Blood." That movie seemed to be more of a vehicle for Day-Lewis' acting skills than it was for the plot. Rather than be drawn into the story, I sat in the theater thinking, "Boy, is Daniel Day-Lewis a great actor. Here I am, watching him act like nobody else can." I wasn't immersed in the drama so much as I was immersed in his performance.

And there's a little of that with Bryant, isn't there?"

Honestly it's unfair for any player to be compared to Jordan but it's something every star player should strive for.

Other than Kobe and Lebron what other player even deserves some consideration?

They won't match him but the fact that they are even close enough to warrant the chatter says something.
