We regret to announce the passing of a friend and industry giant. Our beloved Fernando passed away early Sunday morning. Since words cannot adequately express our loss, we'd just like to say our friend was a great man, friend, husband and dad. We'd ask that you please keep Fernando in your thoughts and prayers, and when more information becomes available, we will pass it along.

I am very saddended to hear this untimely news.

The condolences and prayers of my family are with the family and friends of Fernando during this most difficult of times.

Last Night Our Industry Lost One Of Its Legends

Last night we lost an industry Icon. We regret to announce the passing of a friend and industry giant. Our beloved Fernando passed away early Sunday morning. Since words cannot adequately express our loss, we'd just like to say our friend was a great man, friend, husband and dad. We'd ask that you please keep Fernando in your thoughts and prayers, and when more information becomes available, we will pass it along. Rest assured Fernando is making half time lines on the Lakers and Magic this night. He loved this industry to a fault, as much a a man could, and will continue to be an inspiration to linesmakers worldwide.

God Bless and Rest in Peace Fernando,

The Betphoenix Family will miss you...

UBM seemed like a good guy, and certainly was very well respected as a linesman, for sure.

Like I said somewhere else, I didn't know him but my family wishes Fernando's family the best in the face of the difficult days ahead.

he was as sharp as linemaker as i've ever known.
i'm glad he at least got to see the stanley cup decided
as the ice was his passion.

in the old days fernando used to play in the WSOP.
he knew he had no chance, but he used his buyin
as a marketing tool to get his name out there and
increase the number of players that used his office.

betphoenix is in shock, I'm still waiting for him to come in through our wagering door!! just can't it that he's gone!!

Total Shock like you said...Fernie will be missed by many and was one of the true offshore GIANTS...his passing reminds me of another guy in the industry who passed away last year...Skip from Del Mar....

Two friends passing away too fast...RIP
