MLB Betting Preview
Detroit Tigers (34-29) at St. Louis Cardinals (34-30)
Tuesday, 8:15 pm Eastern

SBG Global Opening Line: Tigers - 120 , Total 7 Over - 120

Runs could be at a premium on Tuesday night as the St. Louis Cardinals host the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers send Justin Verlander to the mound while the Cardinals counter with Adam Wainwright. This will be the first visit for Detroit to St. Louis since the 2006 World Series.

SBG Global reports that early MLB Betting has the public taking Tigers on the Road.

St. Louis is not scoring many runs lately and it has cost them as they have dropped seven of their last ten. They were nearly no-hit by Cleveland’s Cliff Lee on Sunday and lost 3-0. "I think we're pretty close to where we need to be, even though we just got (three-hit)," Skip Schumaker said, "We have the type of lineup that I really do believe in." The only player producing for St. Louis is Albert Pujols who is among the leaders in home runs, RBIs, on-base percentage and slugging. Pujols is 3 for 5 in his career against Verlander.

Verlander is 7-2 on the season with a 3.02 ERA. He is 7-0 with a major league-low 1.10 ERA in nine starts since April 27th. He is coming off a 2-1 complete game win over the White Sox last Wednesday. "It's hard to describe how well he pitched," manager Jim Leyland said, "Just absolutely tremendous." Verlander is 8-0 with a 2.30 ERA in 10 career Interleague starts. Detroit has won five of the last six games against St. Louis but those were all in Detroit.

Detroit is not hitting the ball either as they are batting .220 in their last five games. They could have trouble against Adam Wainwright who is 6-4 with a 3.49 ERA. It will be Wainwright’s first career start against the Tigers although he did pitch against them in relief in 2006.

Here are the MLB Betting stats for Tuesday’s game. The Tigers are 23-7 in their last 30 games as a road favorite. The Tigers are 45-19 in their last 64 Interleague games. The Tigers are 5-1 in Verlander’s last 6 road starts.
The Tigers are 0-4 in the last 4 meetings in St. Louis.

SBG Global Current Line: Tigers - 113 , Total 7.5 Under - 115

The Cardinals are 3-7 in their last 10 overall. The Cardinals are 0-4 in their last 4 home games. The Cardinals are 17-6 in Wainwright’s last 23 home starts.

The Under is 4-1 in the Tigers last 5 road games. The Over is 6-2 in Verlander’s last 8 road starts.

The Under is 6-0 in the Cardinals last 6 interleague home games. The Over is 4-0 in Wainwright’s last 4 starts overall.
