Colorado +1.12 over L.A. Angels http://www.pinnaclesports.com/?refer=xspwagers
It’s not hard to pull the trigger on the Rockies here, as this team is as hot as a firecracker with 16 wins in its last 17 games. Incredible. When a team is playing this good they can’t wait to get to the park and it also doesn’t hurt that Aaron Cook is on the hill. Cook is a guy that throws strikes, keeps the ball down and induces double-play ground balls when he gets into trouble. Cook improved to 6-3 Wednesday against the Rays, allowing three runs on eight hits and one walk over seven innings while inducing 13 groundball outs. In his last six starts, Cook is 4-2 with a 2.79 ERA over 42 innings pitched. The Angels are coming off a series with against the hated Dodgers. It was an intense-filled series with big crowds and a letdown here is a distinct possibility. Even if the Angels don’t suffer a letdown they’re still in trouble. Matt Palmer has pitched better than anyone could have anticipated. In fact, he’s the first 30-yr-old rookie in baseball history to open a season 6-0. He has good numbers but they may also be a little skewed. You see, Palmer’s last six games have come against Seattle twice, San Diego, San Fran the Dodgers and one inning of relief against the White Sox in which he allowed two hits, two walks and a run. In other words he’s faced a slew of cupcakes and in turn, so have the Angels. In fact, the Angels were beating up on all those cupcakes and as soon as a quality team rolled into town they lost two of three. Anyway, two starts ago the Padres got to Palmer for 10 hits in six innings, not to mention four runs. Palmer is taking a step up in class and could be very ripe to get beat. Play: Colorado +1.12 (Risking 2 units).
