The Mets have lost seven of their last 12 games against the American League but they may not have a much easier time in this series against St. Louis considering the Cardinals are coming off a great series in which they destroyed the Kansas City Royals over the weekend.

There could be some runs scored on Monday considering Todd Wellemeyer is up against Tim Redding. Wellemeyer is 6-5 on the season with a 5.36 ERA while Redding is 0-2 with a 6.27 ERA. Last year Redding gave up six runs in 5 2/3 innings against the Cardinals. He has not beaten St. Louis since 2004.
