Cantor Gaming introduced in-game wagering to the M Resort back in March for the NCAA and NIT basketball tournaments with the intention of spreading the technology to other venues. That expansion will reach the Venetian and Palazzo by the start of the NFL season in September.

"It was a business decision to partner with Cantor Gaming with in-game wagering," said Mark Goldman, director of race and sports for the Venetian. "This technology will allow us to expand the betting opportunities we can provide for our players."
M actually debuted in-game wagering for the Baylor-Georgetown NIT game. Baylor started out as a 3-point favorite and saw the lead reach 10 at halftime. Georgetown wound up losing, but by just 2 points and was able to earn bettors money with the changing odds during the comeback.

In later months M expanded in-game wagering to selected baseball games, the NBA playoffs and the Triple Crown of horse racing. Like M, the Venetian will be providing customers its own lines, which sister book Palazzo will also employ.

"There will be just one betting pool," Goldman said. "In-game wagering is good for the industry. It might take some time to catch on, but when more people familiarize themselves I think the technology has all the potential in the world to be successful."
Goldman said his book wants to make sure that all systems are go for the in-game wagering terminals and the hand-held devices available to players.

"At the beginning, we will just do NFL and then hope to integrate it to college football," he said. "Our staff is great and really looking to make it as comfortable and user friendly as possible for our in-house guests."
The process will work the same as M with players signing up with the book for an account, checking out a hand-held device and placing a bet.
