Matt Holliday faces his former team for the first time as the Oakland Athletics host the Colorado Rockies on Friday night. It was expected that Holliday’s addition would upgrade the A’s offense and that the Rockies would struggle but that has not been the case. Holliday has been poor for the A’s while Huston Street has been a great closer for the Rockies.

"I think we have a good read of where the club is right now," Tracy said, "We have a good club and we know it, we just have to get through this road trip with a winning record. That is our goal."
Colorado may be able to have some success against an Oakland team that has scored three or fewer runs in eight of its last 15 games. The A’s are 5-10 in those games. Oakland sends Brett Anderson to the mound on Friday. He is 3-7 with a 5.74 ERA this season.
Jason Hammel gets the start for Colorado on Friday. He is 4-3 with a 4.41 ERA. He was 2-0 with a 2.35 ERA in four relief appearances against Oakland last season.
