MLB Betting Preview
Colorado Rockies (37-35) at Oakland Athletics (31-40)
Friday, 10:05 pm Eastern

SBG Global Opening Line: Athletics - 141 , Total 8.5 Flat

Matt Holliday faces his former team for the first time as the Oakland Athletics host the Colorado Rockies on Friday night. It was expected that Holliday’s addition would upgrade the A’s offense and that the Rockies would struggle but that has not been the case. Holliday has been poor for the A’s while Huston Street has been a great closer for the Rockies.

SBG Global reports that early MLB Betting has the public taking Athletics at Home.

Holliday is batting .269 with eight homers and 39 RBIs in his first 70 games with the A's. He has been pathetic of late, hitting .197 (12 for 61) with no homers, two RBIs and 11 strikeouts over his last 17 games. He has said that there is no added pressure of facing his former team on Friday. "It's just another game," Holliday said, "It'll be good to see the guys."

The Rockies have done just fine without Holliday in the lineup. After manager Clint Hurdle was fired they took off with Jim Tracy in charge. "I think we have a good read of where the club is right now," Tracy said, "We have a good club and we know it, we just have to get through this road trip with a winning record. That is our goal."

Colorado may be able to have some success against an Oakland team that has scored three or fewer runs in eight of its last 15 games. The A’s are 5-10 in those games. Oakland sends Brett Anderson to the mound on Friday. He is 3-7 with a 5.74 ERA this season.

Jason Hammel gets the start for Colorado on Friday. He is 4-3 with a 4.41 ERA. He was 2-0 with a 2.35 ERA in four relief appearances against Oakland last season.

Here are the MLB Betting stats for Friday’s game. The Rockies are 5-1 in their last 6 games vs. a left-handed starter. The Rockies are 9-2 in their last 11 road games. The Rockies are 6-0 in Hammel’s last 6 starts. The Rockies are 0-6 in the last 6 meetings in Oakland.

SBG Global Current Line: Athletics - 138 , Total 8.5 Under - 115

The Athletics are 5-12 in their last 17 Interleague games. The Athletics are 4-9 in Andersons last 13 starts.

The Under is 5-2 in the Rockies last 7 Interleague road games. The Over is 4-1 in Anderson’s last 5 starts overall. The Under is 6-0 in the last 6 meetings between the two teams including 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in Oakland.
