Chicago –1.04 over CLEVELAND http://www.pinnaclesports.com/?refer=xspwagers The Indians are sinking fast and after the Reds came into their barn on the weekend and took two of three, they can’t be feeling too good. In fact, Cinci came in with the league’s worst offense in June and proceeded to score 15 runs in the last two games, beating the Tribe 7-3 and 8-1. Now trhis mentally beaten team will face the always tough-minded Ozzie Guillen and the White Sox. The White Sox have won six of eight and they’ve scored 34 runs over their last five games. They were scoring lots of runs against guys like Chad Billingsley, Randy Wolf, Johhny Cueto, Carlos Zambrano and Ryan Dempster to name a few and they're taking a big step down in class here. They’re going to see a guy whose confidence is shot and that’s been absolutely hammered in his last three starts. The Pirates, Brewers and Royals rocked Carl Pavano to the tune of 23 hits and 18 earned runs in 13.1 innings. At Progressive Field this season, Pavano is 2-2 with a 7.13 ERA and a BAA of .347. The South Side is warming up big time with an offense that’s on fire and they have to be licking their chops to get at Pavano after he threw a gem against them earlier in the year. Gavin Floyd is the exact opposite of Pavano. Floyd got off to a rough start but has been one of the major’s best pitchers over the last month. In fact, Floyd is 3-1 with a 1.60 ERA in his last seven starts. Pavano and the Indians have no appeal while Floyd and the White Sox have plenty. Very cheap lay here going with the best it. Play: Chicago –1.04 (Risking 2 units).

L.A. Angels +1.16 over TEXAS http://www.pinnaclesports.com/?refer=xspwagers
As bad as it was for the Indians to lose to the Reds, it was just as bad or worse for the Rangers losing two of three at home to the Padres. Not only did the Rangers lose to the Padres but they’ve dropped seven of its last 10 to San Fran, Arizona, Houston and San Diego. The offense, once feared, is now swinging at air and has been held to two runs or fewer in five of its last nine. That’s after playing at hitter’s parks against some very average pitchers. By contrast, Los Angeles’ lineup has scored 11 or more runs three times during its five-game winning streak. This is a team that will exploit every opponent’s weakness with precision and right now the Rangers have plenty. Earlier in the year the Angels came in here and were swept but that was then and this is now and right now the Angels are so superior. Last season the Angels won seven of nine games at Arlington and that’s the team we’ll very likely see here. The pitching match-up is not as relevant as the fact that the Angels are scorching hot while the Rangers can’t get out of their own way. If the better pitcher won every game we’d all be rich but there are so many more variables and as a pooch the Angels are the right way to go, period. Play: L.A. Angels +1.16 (Risking 2 units).

Colorado +1.12 over LOS ANGELES http://www.pinnaclesports.com/?refer=xspwagers
Speaking of hot teams, the Rockies take a back seat to nobody right now. Colorado has won 20 of 23 and is 22-7 under Jim Tracy. After a 3-1 win at Oakland on Sunday, the Rockies have gained seven games on the Dodgers, who’ve lost four of their last five contests. Ubaldo Jiminez has some of the filthiest stuff in the majors. Jiminez has allowed one earned run in five of his last 10 starts. He’s allowed three runs or fewer in seven of his last 10. He has outstanding numbers after a shaky start but one cannot deny that the Rockies with Jiminez on the mound are about as live a dog as any on the board. Incidentally, the Rockies lead the majors in just about every offensive category in June while the Dodgers rank 25th offensively out of 30 teams this month. Randy Wolf has not won this month in five starts. He’s 0-2 with a 5.47 ERA over that stretch and the Rockies are something like 8-1 over their last nine games against southpaws. Play: Colorado +1.12 (Risking 2 units).
