What does the -1.5 and +1.5 mean?

Does that mean the Cubs will win by less than 1.5?

if u take the cubs -1.5 it means they have to win by 2 or more for your bet to hit. You bet the run line basically if you think the game wont be close and your team will win in a blowout.

now as for the dog, if you take them +1.5, it means they can lose by 1 run or win the game, and your bet is a winner. run line bets must go 8.5 innings to win or lose

You win by 2 to win your bet if you giving -1.5. Getting +1.5 then you lose by 1 or win the game to win your bet.

If you bet Pirates +1.5...they can't lose by more than 2 runs. A 1 run loss wins.

For the Cubs -1.5, they have to win by 2 or more runs. A 1 run win loses.

Hope that helps

As noted in the other three Replies, the Runline in baseball is pretty much the "pointspread", though unlike football or basketball, the price will vary.
