Celtics coach Doc Rivers is scheduled to meet with free agent Grant Hill on Sunday, to discuss the possibility of Hill signing with Boston.
The Suns and Knicks are also pursuing Hill, though they obviously don't offer the same chance at winning a championship as the Celtics. The frequently injured Hill played all 82 games last season, averaging 12 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists in nearly 30 minutes per game. Jul. 5

True #1 but the players they are after still have just enough left to help get another title.

Hard to believe Grant Hill played in all 82 games last year after missing so much time with the Magic......

Boston has to get the most out of the big 3 in the next two years.

Ainge is a great GM, never resting on laurels.

They absolutely need to add some talent to capitalize on what they have, and Danny recognizes that.

i guess one good thing about having aging star players, is that they all "know" the refs and can talk them up and get the calls, especially if the player is always been considered a "good" guy.

Grant Hill is perceived by most I'm sure to be a pretty smart individual.

But if he chooses the Knicks over Boston for what to him will be a few measly bucks, he's not so bright after all.......

The Knicks have offered Grant Hill a one-year contract for a portion of their mid-level exception.
New York is probably offering more money than Boston, which only has it's $1.9 million exception to lure him with. The Knicks are trying to change the culture on their team by adding a solid veteran, and Hill might overlook their rebuilding process for a chance to play in "the Mecca" of Madison Square Garden.
