Sox should still win this game, but I can't believe Jon Lester is getting absolutely hammered by this weak lineup. This guy really has no clue how to pitch. Ronny Cedeno, one of the worst hitters in the majors, just cleared the bases because Lester was stupid enough to throw a 1-2 fastball right down the middle with 2 outs. If he throws a curve in the dirt, Cedeno chases it and the inning is over. But no, he decides to bail the guy out by grooving one down the middle. What an absolute moron.
It didn't exactly play out like I thought it would, but the Sox are going to get it done after all. The M's just weren't going to sweep the Sox in Fenway. Not a chance. I give them credit -- they played better than I thought they would, and they gave the Sox a scare for a bit, but the odds of them winning 3 in a row were miniscule. That's why I didn't think the line of -250 was that bad. Going into this series the odds of Seattle winning all 3 would have been a helluva lot higher than 1/2.5. But a line of -250 today is essentially what that was saying.
