Espn reporting he's committed to the C's - personally I was concerned about him going to the Magic as that wouldve made the East a two team race imo

I hear Grant Hill is going to be signed by the end of the week as well... Sign a backup PG, play some solid D and they should compete pretty well next season.

GHill isn't really a good roleplayer, he can't shoot, he's not a particularly good defender anymore...I mean I guess I'd rather haveh im off the bench than Tony Allen but I'd much rather see C's deal Scal/TAllen's expiring contracts for Posey (NO is looking to cut payroll)

I'd rather have Posey as well... But Hill's stats last year aren't bad, 12ppg, 5rpg, 3-4apg in 30 minutes. As a seventh man essentially, I'd take it.

I agree about Tony though - if we're not going to use him on the court, packaging him up /w Scal's expiring contract is a very good idea.

??

Grant Hill past three seasons a consistent over 50% FG (51% three year avg)

Dunno if the Celts are his best choice for next fall, but wherever he lands, he'll likely continue to drop 12 to 13 pts and grab 5 boards

ps...I'm a fan of GH....heh

I really like what I've seen in this year's NBA draft and the FA signings so far.

The bottom tier teams all seem to have made some legit upgrades and the upper tier teams have filled in blanks to retain their own consistency.

The upcoming season could be one of most competitive in quite a while.

If they stay healthy nobody else has a chance, even LA.

I can see Gasol & Bynum trying to handle Kevin Garnett and Rasheed Wallace.............haha

Nice pick up for the Celtics.

But will it cost them Powe and Davis?

Danny Ainge has made it pretty clear that Powe, unless healthy is not part of the plan. He won't be able to play until Feb and is apparently pretty pissed with the C's after he played injured last season. Sad situation all around as Powe has a great story overcoming homelessness and injuries, and is a really good role player when healthy... Also seems to be a genuinely good guy.

Barman, I think G-Hill is still decent but Celts need more of a defender/3pt shooter in the backup swingman spot. Although, like I said I'd take him over TAllen. Also, I agree with you I like what I'm seeing in the NBA right now with no teams standing pat, having no balls etc. You take a team like Orlando that could've just re-signed Turkoglu and said ok we'll get better with experience next year but they rolled the dice and dealt for VC and said lets go for it.

Hache, for a Magic fan I'm surprised your giving the Celts so much credit. Don't you think Orlando basically adding Nelson/VC and losing Rafer/Lee/Turk is a nice upgrade to a finals team? Also, could see you guys getting someone like Marion to fillout your roster and I'd like that move cause he could be an effective undersized PF next to Dwight...

I would take Rafer/Lee/Turk any day of the week over VC at this point in his career.. hell I'd probably rather have a young Courtney Lee alone going forward than Vinsanity. I understand they might be trying to win now, but Carter isn't the player to put them over the top

Losing Turk seems like it'll be tough in that they rellied on him so heavily in the fourth quarter - handling the ball, setting up the offense and ultimately scoring.
