ive noticed that their lines will move all of a sudden at the last minute. For example today the Blue Jays Run line went from -149 to -200>>>is that an actual move or is that a live betting line?same thing happened last night with the under on the Texas game>>>line fwent from under +103 to -127. appreciate the help.thanks

That's most likely a switch from betting to live betting. Toronto game is offered live today. Offers are much scarcer with live, so lines are much more seperated.

The live betting for baseball at matchbook is terrible. My guess is that matchbook supplies the small amount of liquidity that is there and they must have some kind of "bot" that only allows you to get like $10 or $20 down on an available line, even during the commercials. As soon as you go to grab what is available, it gives you like 20% of what is available, and immediately moves to much worse odds, hoping you will take the worse odds.

I love matchbook though. During football and basketball season the live betting is great and of course the pre-game liquidity is awesome.

I don't think MB seeds live betting, or any markets, except maybe by giving credit to some to make offers.

It's hard to be a live marketmaker, esp. on multiple games. The market is just too new.

Football is better suited for this.

Doug, I'd say around 80% of the money available in the baseball live markets is attached to some kind of software that moves the odds every time you try to take some of it. Maybe its not matchbook seeding it but whoever it is has the software to make it do that.

It will give you a very small amount and move it to worse odds. Once I even tried to get the worse odds and it moved them again, instantly when I hit submit. The game was not on and there was no reason for it to be moving like that. I have tried this around 30 times and 25 have been mostly rejected and instantly moved to worse odds (for me).

It is not like this during football and basketball season though and matchbook is my favorite shop by far

That's not a move, that's just the big players taking down their offers a couple of minutes before gametime.

It's not like the runline gets a lot worse for one team, but a lot better for the other team (which would be the case if it was an actual "move") ... the lines usually get worse for both teams at the last minute.

The lines that remain (like the -200 that you mentioned) are just stink bids/offers that people have left in the system, in the hopes that some sucker bets them (in the example you used, someone was trying to get +200 on the Yankees runline).
