Coming off a few rough days capped off by the Giants blowing the RL...time to look ahead to Tuesday. Some early thoughts.
- Dempster is 2-11 all-time vs the Braves. Vasquez is 4-4 and 2-3 at Wrigley. BetUS is opening this game at -110.
- Adam Wainwright carries a 2.59 ERA vs Milwaukee (3.6 @ Miller Park) in 15 appearances. Gallardo's is 5.30 but he threw 8 innings of shutout ball vs the Cards in late May at home. Total is opening at 8. I'm leaning under right now.
- Barry Zito is 3-0 all time vs Florida and Josh Johnson is 0-2 vs SFO. Johnson also sports a road ERA nearly 2 points higher than at home (3.91 vs 1.98). Marlins are opening as small favorites.
- Josh Beckett is 2-3 with a 4.88 ERA vs the A's. Dana Eveland sports an 18.9 ERA vs Boston and gave up 5 runs in 4.2 innings to them earlier this year in Oakland. The total is at 9.5 currently. Would love to see this bet down by people piling on Beckett to dominate and then I might jump all over 9 runs.
- Jeremy Sowers is 0-5 all time vs CWS and 0-2 @ CWS. Buehrle sports a 2-0 record and 1.65 ERA at home vs Cleveland since 2007. Random stat...Since 2000, when Buehrle's first start in July is at home he has as 4-1 record. BetUS is opening with the White Sox as a -165 favorite.
- John Lackey is 10-10 with a 5.79 ERA vs the Rangers in 28 starts. In home starts vs Texas since 2007, his ERA is 8.17 (5 starts). Dustin Nippert has a career ERA of 6.42 and an ERA of 6.92 in 13 innings vs the Angels. However, his ERA is 2.92 vs the Angels in 2 "starts" (one of them he entered the game in the 2nd inning). The total is opening at 9.5 runs.
