Personally, don't see anything wrong with you venting on here. I did a few years ago, when my wife and I working going through a rough patch and few people said I was at fault and they were correct. Improved my marriage and have never been happier.
Personally, I think the forum is a good place to ask for advice, because nobody knows you and will give you honest feedback. If you talk to friends, they may tell you something that may not be completely honest or they have certain biases. It is a lot easier for people in LA to criticize someone in Buffalo, than for someone to do it face to face.
