Toronto Blue Jays

Rickey Romero: 7-3 overall, the team is 8-4 when he starts. 2.96 overall ERA with a 1.27 WHIP. He has been hot as of late - Last three games he is 3-0 with 1.27 ERA and .98 WHIP. Romero is currently on a four game winning streak.

Baltimore Orioles

Rich Hill: Hill is 3-2 overall with a team record of 7-3 when he starts. However, his overall ERA is 7.43 with a WHIP of 1.80. He is 0-1 in his last three starts with a team record of 1-2. His ERA in the last three starts is 13.15 and a WHIP of 2.38.

Hill is getting the start today, replacing Bergesen who was supposed to start but will have to sit out due to injury. Initially, Baltimore didn't want Hill to start another game until the all-star break so they could evaluate him considering his poor performance as of late.

Note: For what it's worth, Baltimore manager Dave Trembley is out serving a two game suspension.

Both teams are evenly matched up on offensive, in my opinion. ESPN has Toronto as 17 in their power rankings, and Baltimore ranked at 23.

It is clear that Romero is on top of him game right now while Hill is struggling. I'm taking the better pitching here.

TORONTO -113

Thanks! I thought the same about Bergesen - with him in I didn't have a play on the game. BOL to you too!

ADDING:

David Ortiz has faced Gil Meche 23 times, of which 9 hits - 1 double, 4 homeruns, and 10 RBIs. Due to Ortiz's success against Meche in the past, I expecting to see him do well tonight, as well as the rest of the BoSox offense which has been below par lately. Boston is due to break out of its slump.

On the other side of the coin, Smoltz is just gettting too old for the game. He has not looked good at all in his three starts this year - boasting a 6.60 ERA and 0-2 record. The Royals have some offensive talent with the likes of Jose Guillen (who is a batting .300 lifetime against Smoltz), Teahen and Collaspo.

I wouldn't touch the ML with a 10 foot pole because Smoltz is not consistent. However, I see Boston and KC putting some runs on the board.

KC 6
Boston 7

KC Royals/Boston Red Sox OVER 9.
