NY METS +1.06 over Cincinnati http://www.pinnaclesports.com/?refer=xspwagers
I know the Mets are struggling but damn, who the hell are the Reds to be favored on the road? The Mets got a big boost from newcomer Jeff Francouer and pitcher Johan Santana and one win can do wonders to a team’s psyche. They’ll play to another packed house today in the last game before the break and the Mets have to be feeling pretty good about their chances for its first series win in over a month. Besides, the Mets have had some good success against Harang, especially Wright and Castilla, who both have six hits in 10 AB’s against him while Joey Cora has four hits in 9 AB’s. Furthermore, Harang is 1-5 on the road with a 4.89 ERA and a .319 BAA after allowing 76 hits in 57 road innings. Mike Pelfrey is hit and miss but he’s still allowed two earned runs or less in seven of his last 10 starts and it’s not like the Reds are feared. The Reds have two win in its last seven games and they’re hitting .216 over that stretch, which is the exact same amount of wins the Mets have over the last week as well. The Reds have zero advantage in this match-up and do not warrant this billing. Play: NY Mets +1.06 (Risking 2 units).

Los Angeles +1.27 over MILWAUKEE http://www.pinnaclesports.com/?refer=xspwagers
Great pitching match-up here sees Clayton Kershaw and his absolutely wicked stuff facing Yovani Gallardo and his equally wicked stuff. But here’s the thing…Kershaw is taking back a very sweet tag, the Dodgers are superior in every way and the Brewers pen is a disaster waiting to happen. Furthermore, if current form counts for anything, then the Dodgers have an edge on the mound too. Kershaw has not allowed an earned run in four of his last five starts and has not allowed a single bomb in seven straight starts. In fact, Kershaw has allowed one jack since May 1 and that one home run came at Colorado. The Brew Crew relies heavily on the long ball and Kershaw doesn’t serve them up. The man is in the zone, period. Gallardo is a great young pitcher and while Kershaw is gaining steam, it appears as though Gallardo is feeling the fatigue of a lot of pitches and innings pitched. The Cardinals got to him for four runs in five frames in his last start and he threw 102 pitches in that short outing. His pitch count over the last several games looks like this; 102, 114, 118, 107, 116, 105, 110 and 126. Give me Kershaw and the Dodgers with a price tag over anyone including Gallardo and the very beatable Brewers. Play: Los Angeles +1.27 (Risking 2 units).
