I Survived is on the Biography channel. I don't know the schedule.

Great show. It tells the dramatic, and often horrific, stories of how individuals managed to overcome and survive unthinkable situations. The show is an hour long and it is done by interviewing 3 survivors as they tell of what went through their minds during events that nearly killed them. But, they survived.
The show is morbid, gut-wrenching, and inspirational. The bad thing is once you start watching, you have to see the end.

Tonight they featured one of the victims of a rogue escalator from Colorado Rockies stadium. Next time I get on an escalator I know I will be thinking of this story. Maybe I will just take the stairs.

It's not bad. I wish they had more re-enactment and less commentary. But I think producing those scenes costs a pretty penny.

I don't think it's as good as "I Shouldn't Be Alive." It's a shame they cancelled that. (again, it's probably just too expensive to produce.) I rented the DVDs watched every single episode. The one where the boy scouts are in the grand canyon. And they get hit with with a freak heat wave. One boy dies from dehydration, while the scout leader waits for water and has an hour long bout with a rattle snake is just something else. There were a couple other episodes that were real intense and gripping like that.

I forgot about "I shouldn't be alive." That was a good one, as well. The one episode I remember dealt with a guy whose plane crashed somewhere in Africa. His story made me wince as he described the pain and dehydration he experienced while trying to fight off various predators. Great show. Like you said, it's a shame it has been canceled.
