I went and seen it today. I also like many of you have seen Borat. I can't say I liked every scene but there were a few like when he was on the Richard Bey show that might be the funniest shit I have seen in years. If you like rauncy humor it's worth seeing.

After having seen and laughed at the TV series "Da Ali G Show" and "Ali G in da USA" and then found the Borat movie just as funny, my expectations were high. I love the way Sacha Baron Cohen uses the characters Borat and Brüno in interviews to make ordinary people say things they normally wouldn't, either because they believe they are dealing with an idiot or because they are flattered by the attention and want to be on TV. I also like how he makes people feel embarrassed on his behalf because of what he says and does. I recommend looking at some old Brüno episodes on YouTube, like the "Austria Gay TV" or "Fashion Police", to understand what I mean. The movie Brüno had unfortunately nothing of this. Since it was obvious that almost all the people he dealt with were actors, that edge was completely lost and the whole thing just became stupid.

Further, in an attempt to out trump the Borat movie Sacha Baron Cohen has turned Brüno into a very (to say the least) perverted person--something this character was not before. A cheap trick to get some laughs--which he got--but without the finesse we have previously seen in Mr Cohen's humour.

In a nutshell I think the problem was that this movie was too big of a (Hollywood) production and the lawsuits from the Borat movie scarred away the artistry. I doubt Sacha Baron Cohen is proud of the result.

Was hilarious. Probably not as good as Borat but still worth the price of admission.

No comment here. I haven't seen it. Probably will when it goes to netflix.

I'd really like to see someone here who knows how to, to resurrect the old Borat Sagdiyev posts here from a few years back. There were so many of them and many became instant classics.

Today would be a good day to read some of them again. Would be better than the WNBA option.

'Morally dangerous' Bruno banned in Ukraine

KIEV (AFP) — Ukraine has banned the hit comedy "Bruno" on the grounds that its "unjustified" showing of genitals and homosexual sex could have a damaging effect on Ukrainians' moral health, officials said Wednesday.
The ban is not the first time "Bruno" star Sacha Baron-Cohen has run into trouble in the former Soviet Union after his previous creation, the Kazakh journalist Borat, caused controversy in the Central Asian state.
The film, which stars Cohen as a gay Austrian fashionista with a habit of making outrageous remarks, has already hit the top spot at the North American box office.
But Ukraine's film censors were less impressed, with nine members out of the culture ministry's 14-person commission voting for a total ban.
"The Ukrainian ministry of culture has decided to ban all showings of this film on Ukrainian territory," the ministry of culture said in a letter to the Ukrainian film distributor Sinergia, a copy of which was obtained by AFP.
"The film contains unjustified showing of genital organs and sexual relations and shows homosexual acts and homosexual perversions in an explicitly realist manner," it added.
The film also contains "sadistic manifestations which could damage the morality of citizens."
Kazakhstan's government was initially angered by Cohen's 2006 smash hit film "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan".
But its response softened amid the publicity it brought

The part w/ baby OJ is a riot....LOL
The part where he is at the swingers party "Youre doing a good job" or when he takes self defense lessons "What would you do if someone attacks you with a dildo?" "OK, what about two dildos?"

Or the guy in Alabama "you need to find jesus." Bruno : "Are you hitting on me?!"

The part with Ron Paul, RP wasnt in on the joke.
