LAS VEGAS -- Former NBA star Antoine Walker is facing criminal charges over $822,500 in gambling debts to three Las Vegas casinos.
Documents provided Tuesday by the Clark County district attorney accuse the 32-year-old Walker of three felony counts of writing bad checks. Prosecutors say he failed to make good on 10 checks totaling $1 million written to Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood and the Red Rock Resort.
Walker's agent and a lawyer in Las Vegas didn't immediately respond Tuesday to messages.
Prosecutor Bernie Zadrowski told the Las Vegas Sun that Walker repaid $178,000 of the debts incurred last July to January.
Walker last played for the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2008. He was an All-Star with the Boston Celtics and won an NBA championship in 2006 with the Miami Heat.

Walker made so much money during his career its just silly.

It amazes me how some of these guys run into trouble like this in the first place.

Probably playing table games or slots. Why even gamble when you have that kind of cash?

I just looked back on a bio of Walker the guy has made roughly 150+ mil in his career

I love how his payments plus what he owed add to $1,000,500. Did he take a $500 marker after he burned through the million to take one last crack at getting it back?

I notice alot of these dudes have gambling addictions which is one reason why I think alot of these games have funky outcomes. They have been compromised.

$100 million is never enough. After taxes and what he pays his agent that leaves only $50 million. These guys literally go through money like water. Marriages, divorces, child support.
Jewelry, lending money to their family, supporting all his pals from "The Hood". There is no amount of money that can be safe when they have a gambling habit. It sounds incredible. All they need to do is invest their money at 5% a year. $2.5 million is not enough live on. I didn't even include their shoe contract and royalties from video games, posters. Just total damn fools!

When Antoine was a member of the Heat he used to host high stakes no limit games.Of course, Antoine, would have his own dealers and his own crew in there. Many people got cheated by Antoine and his crew.A guy lost his Range Rover in Walkers game along with a ton of cash. What went on there was not just bad "luck".

He showed up for the American Century Classic pro-am, a celebrity golf tournament, on Thursday afternoon and is slated to tee off in the first round on Friday morning. It looks like his jail stay was short lived, at least for now.
