1) With the president at the game being at the stadium was surreal. Besides metal detectors, geiger counters were used at entrances to measure any radiation entering the stadium. Snipers were located on empty highways, on top of the stadium and a harrier jet covered the airspace over the game.

2) The person who got booed the most was Obama. Even though the game was in the city the people who were attending were mostly suburbanites who obviously are staunch Republicans. On the video board out of the presidents the person who got the loudest applause by far in the stadium was George Bush, Jr. Go figure.

3) The people working the video board at Busch Stadium are idiots. Mark Teixeira was shown wearing an Atlanta hat. Jason Bay was shown wearing a Pirates hat. Gee guys, do you think you might want to show a little respect and have a clue?

4) As a local, I enjoy when St. Louis is called the best baseball city in the game. To be honest, how can anyone actually measure it much less prove it? There are other great baseball cities like Boston, New York, Cincinnati and others. I just think they overdid it a bit with like this is the only big baseball town in the U.S. Albert Pujols is a great ballplayer but even I am sure he would say it was overkill.

5) Watching their actions on the bench both teams wanted to win in the worst way. It may overhyped but these players are competitive and really were into the game. It was cool experience but I am looking forward getting back to handicapping fifteen games a night on the board.
