Milwaukee over Pittsburgh
Braden Looper (8-4, 4.95 ERA) who has been pitching very well lately looks to win his fourth consecutive decision.

The Brewers could have a good chance to score more against Virgil Vasquez (1-3, 6.52), whose spot as Pittsburgh's fifth starter appears to be in jeopardy after his last performance. Vasquez lasted just 1 1-3 innings at Philadelphia on July 12, giving up five runs, four hits and three walks in a 5-2 loss.

Rodriguez has not allowed a run in 17 straight innings over his last three starts.
The left-hander gave up five hits and struck out six in six innings of a 3-0 win on Thursday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Rodriguez, who's given up one run and struck out 22 in 22 innings over his last three outings, is 4-0 with a 1.54 ERA in five starts since losing at Texas on June 16.

Todd Wellemeyer (7-7, 5.56) will make his first start in almost two weeks for St. Louis. The right-hander, who's been plagued by inconsistency this season, allowed four runs and seven hits in four innings, but didn't factor in a 5-4 loss at Milwaukee on July 8.
