Coming right back with a play tonight on the San Francisco/Atlanta game. Tonight Ryan Sadowski makes his fourth start for the Giants. In his first two starts he completed 6 and 7 innings respectively yielding no runs however in his last start he only lasted 5 innings, ending with nearly the same pitch count as the previous two starts but yielded 3 runs. He is a work in progress. He is a thrower but not a pitcher yet. He hasn't either mastered his pitches nor their location. Not a good situation when facing the surging Braves and their batting line-up.
Meanwhile Derek Lowe will be on the hill for the Braves. He comes off a 6 inning stint yielding 3 runs against the Mets in an Atlanta 5-3 win. With Lowe's command of location and his sinker, the Giants who continue to struggle at the plate on the road will likely find it difficult to score is this spot. They scored 3 runs last night but actually should have scored zero. The first two were put on the board because Hanson inexplicably walked pitcher Sanchez to load the bases, then struck out Rowand before yielding a second hit to Wynn who should have never got to the plate. Their other run came because the Braves centerfield completely lost site of the ball and it actually fell behind him by 10 feet. Not exactly a sign the Giants hitting is picking up. Suspect that continues again tonight.
Took the opening line last night (note Tracker Forum thread) anticipating line movement here. Still a solid play at the current line which is 10 cents lower.
Year To Date Record: 56-58-1 (+24.20)
5* Atlanta -1.5 (+110) 5Dimes
Good luck everyone!
