How many here call Vegas their 2nd home ?

I kind of still do.

As in, I might go back "home", if I got divorced,etc.

I at least know my way around the city, etc.

Because I lived there for 5+ years, not really the gambling bit , at all. I also left no outstanding warrants in the state ! @)

if a small town guy had 50k, moved to vegas and thought he could make it, a) how long would you give him and b) what would be his downfall (besides gambling)?

a) a year

b) too much vig on sports. I didn't bet sports when I lived there ( late 80's- to about 1995).

One would have a better chance with poker, IMO.

I worked while in Vegas ( installed AC, primarily), my gambling was on BJ.

You'd need to be a member of a group, to get any line value, can't do it alone....to get any line value. You can't spend 45 minutes going back to the LV book that had the nice line... it would be gone, by then.

if you were new to the scene, how do you get in with a group? and how would a group spot a sucker -- or, any decent group could spot a sucker a mile away, but how would they deal with a sucker?

Dude, I don't know how to do it, but fast communications , have to be a key part of it ( ie... cellphones)

No way could you do it alone !

hook up with somebody like Fezzik, or Iceman...You probably need a reputation to do it !

Start your own network ?.... need more money !

I kinda consider vegas my 2nd home. I'm there 4 times a year if that counts. In Hawaii we call vegas the 9th island.:toast:
