thats ridic. with how the boston offensive has been struggling lately and the normally decent oakland pitching, line is way too high.

Beckett is 11-4 as the team has given him run support all year

still -320 with how boston offensive has struggled of late, i expect the line to drop by a fair amount to around -250ish. its not like beckett is 6-1 with a sub 3 era vs oakland, his numbers are average at best

Beckett has been brilliant at home, going 6-0 with a 2.44 ERA in nine starts. The right-hander beat the Athletics on July 7, allowing two runs over 6 2/3 innings.

Dont kid yourself...it will probably go to $350.....everyone says...wow too high...yet they dont have the balls to bet Oakland.....nor should they...The line is correct.....if you think its to high...by all means....hammer the A's.....good luck to you sir!

betting oakland is not the smart bet, passing on that line entirely is the smart play. risk reward is not worth it imo

Caught the rl at -135 at thegreek. Josh just flat out shuts down bad offenses which the A's were even before Holliday left. Of his last 5 home starts he has given up zero ER's in 4 of them. He actually coughed up 2 against the A's in the 5th game. Sox bats should hopefully be able to put up 4 or more vs. Cahill.

What percent chance do you think the Red Sox have of winning this game?

With Beckett on the mound and Bostin in their 2nd home series this homestand while their bats have been really cold as of late. Oakland having a weak offense and now they don't have Holliday, I'd give Boston a 92% chance of winning this game.

I think that sounds good haha, but I wouldn't bet it unless maybe the run line at -140.

Then the line is not correct according to your valuation.
Dude, I won my last 5 out of 6 parlays. Giving 3-1 odds is stupid.
The only way you can win in baseball is to bet 2 team parlays when you have high odds, otherwise you bet the dog.

IMO, there's a reason the line is this high. As I stated above, Beckett is 6-0 at home, so the percentage of him losing at home is very slim.
Oakland is 19-30 on the road and just lost 3 of 4 vs NYY.
Also Oakland is 18-37 when playing a team with a winning record.
Oakland has lost their last 14 out of 22.
The way I see it, Oakland could possibly lose the next 7-10 games.
Every team goes on a streak, and the A's sre streaking backwards

What price would they have to put up to have a casual bettor shy away from playing Beckett at home in this situation? Pitching at home in a now tight division race after losing his last outing? Over -300 is a must just to keep from getting 100 percent boston action win or lose
