Lost the early pick last week with <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Winnipeg. I was struck with their ineptitude to some degree but more I was shocked at head coach’s Kelly’s disrespect of his QB’s. It’s one thing to be quietly frustrated it’s quite another to ask on National TV if the female announcer can throw , maybe he’d put her in. To say that, while trying to build up a young QB like Lefors, is a sure way to lose a room. Now he’s picked up Michael Bishop. How do you spell PANIC.

Montreal @ Edmonton: A profile I have used over the years is to back a home dog after winning on the road as an underdog. The Eskimos fit that bill this weekend. Montreal is coming out West, playing on a grass field and facing what I hope is an energized squad. I had originally thought of Edmonton as a potential west division champion. That thought is on hold now but I think they’ll put up a strong statement game here, at home after getting hammered by the Lions two weeks ago in front of their fans. I’ll take Edmonton with 5.

On my way to annual golf debauchery trip throughout the burning province of BC.

every,

Do you think they have turned the corner with Richie Hall? He has made some mind boggling decisions this year, like seemingly trying to turn Edmonton into a running team and continuing to play Whitlock over McCarty when it is clear who the better back is.

I think Edmonton is the second best team in the West with a decent coach, but I still am not confident in Richie Hall. Add to the fact that he is supposed to be a defensive guru and their defense is giving up more ppg than anyone and I find it hard to pull the trigger on the Eskies here.

BOL to you

Geez, for a second there I thought you were gonna jump on me for illegal teasers or something...:)
I guess the jury's still out on Hall. But it was reasonable imo to try and establish a running presence with Lumsden and a great Canadian back-up. It's tough with the ratio to start a Canadian as RB unless you have a Canadian back-up. The injury to Lumsden really hurt their plans. Having limited imports it makes it difficult to have one as a back-up RB so they will be hoping that Whitlock can be the guy. If he ever stops fumbling he may be. If their offense can settle down, limit the TO's, grind the clock a bit the defense should look better.
I don't think they've turned the corner yet because their O-Line is a bit soft. But I feel this is a great spot for them.

But ya, I can understand your reluctance. but the trigger is fully pulled here.
Good luck and thanks for the feed back.

Agree with this one, catching a good line due to early season records.

No doubt Montreal is a very nice team this year but Edmonton isn't as far behind as early results have indicated. At home coming off an excellent come form behind victory I'd expect a very close game, almost a toss up imo.

I'd agree HPark and everyman, if it was a coach other than Richie Hall. Normally would like Edmonton in a spot like this but since their coach has been a buffoon so far, I can't pull the trigger myself.

BOL to you both

wow...never thought I'd say it...but almost too hot to golf...hot and smoky...but if any of you BC guys want to play a beautiful tough course...Tobiano out by Kamloops...really beautiful. sort of a British open course in a way...open on the cliffs with a wind off the lake. Pretty impressive.

So the line has gone to 6.5. I'll bite for more. Can't imagine it going higher. This is the equivalent to a 12-13 s if game was in Montreal. Pretty excessive in my mind.

With this annual motor home golf journey we have 4 rules:

-no cell phones on the course under punishment of banishment.
-computer use limited to 1 hour per day-try to stay on fun sites as oppossed to work
-1 mulligan per 18 holes-who says you can't bend the rules
-no whining-easier said than done with 4 hungover guys

So I had a mulligan aided 86. Getting ready for Talking Rock by Chase as I write. Early start, stay out of heat, swim, beer by noon. Salmon Arm Golf Course (maybe my favorite course in BC) on Thursday.
