Hey, RX Nation...long time no post.
This is Dave Tuley, longtime Las Vegas correspondent for Daily Racing Form and owner of ViewFromVegas.com (with my own forum at http://forums.viewfromvegas.com/User/Discussions.aspx) longtime reader/poster here at The Prescription. Tonight, at 8 p.m. Pacific Time, my podcast -- which can be accessed either through the ViewFromVegas.com home page or directly at http://www.lvrocks.com/details.php?id=149 -- will include a discussion on a subject that is near and dear to most of our hearts: internet posting forums, specifically of the race & sports betting variety.
There's been a lot going on in this area as most of you are aware, with new forums opening and closing, and one site's much-discussed move to a paid forum. What's the history of posting forums? What's the current state? What can we expect in the future? My guest host will be Jon Spevack (Jon in Oakland from the sportsconferencecall.com and his own forum at roughingthepunter.com) and I think we'll have the best conversation yet on this subject....and hopefully it'll spark conversation at our sites and elsewhere about what we're all doing with all our time online in these forums.
Important note for first-time listeners...go to the above links early to make sure you connect in time. Also, a lot of people just click on the LISTEN LIVE link, but the much cooler option is the CAM & CHAT button where the live conversation among listeners is often as entertaining as the actual show. I'm not sure if we'll be taking callers, but I'm thinking that Jon and I will be following along with the conversations in the chat room and we can answer questions or maybe direct us onto different tangents.
People who aren't able to listen live can go to the same above link to listen on archive starting at 9 p.m. (though the chat room isn't available) and it'll be available at the lvrocks site for 8 weeks. I'll add it on my VFV site shortly
I hope to see a lot of you there tonight and getting your feedback live or in the forums after downloading the archive and listening at your convenience.
Yours truly,
Dave Tuley
