what is your strategy or some general tips for betting totals

looking at pitchers/average offensive production etc, what do you do
idk if this is true ive noticed crappy teams even when both pitchers playing are crappy the total doesnt seem to go over much - im prob wrong though cause i am just basing it on a few games heh

I just cap the games and if both pitchers look tits

vs. or vice versa I think about the total.

I have Dempster and Oswalt going under tonight,game and 1st 5.

But we shall see

Umps, weather(mostly wind), hitters/pitchers parks.
Stats VS LHP/RHP......lineups(who's sitting)
Mostly pitchers, WHIP...strength of opponent and where.
Lots of stuff.

I dont play totals anymore but if i had to i would flip a coin. Errors, poor baserunning, bad calls, weather, umpires, bullpens, pitch counts, clutch/unclutch hitting...too much for me.

for me most important is current form of the pitching and hitting by looking at how they've done over the past few starts and games. A long season of baseball is a very streaky game, sometimes a team will get hot for 8 -10 games and smash the ball all over the park, and pitchers can get in quite the slump or hot streak as well
