I think if you bet the cubs the rest of the yr you will make a profit. I think this team going to take off.

Now for the lawyers. I was at a park and ride the other night with a friend and a sheriff opens the door and asked if we have our id on us. The girl gave him her id and asked if I had mine on me. I said no and he asked for my name and bday and I gave it to him. As he walked to his car another sheriff pulled up. The other sheriff came up to me and said there is some confusion with the info I gave them. I stated that i had my id in my car over there if I could get it and give it to him. He said ok and I gave him my drivers license. The other sheriff comes back and tells me to get out of car and cuffs me. I said whats the problem I have never been in trouble in my life and he said your been arrested for giving false id to a police officer. I said what I gave you my right name and driver license. He said I gave hin an incorrect name when he asked which is bullshit. Anyways I was taken to the station and fingerprinted etc. I have a written statement from the person I was with I gave him the correct name. I was polite and respectful to the officers never mouthed off etc. What can I do? Do I need to get a lawyer?

For anybody reading this I lived in norcal most my life and go pulled over twice for speeding that is only tickets I have ever gotten and that was 13 yrs ago. I have lived in socal for the past two years and I would say I have been pulled over 6-8 times for no reason. 3 times the cops just opened the door. Never knocked on the window or ask me to roll down just open the door. Now I never got a tickets any of those time the police were fishing. I work late at night and get off at 2 or 4am so maybe that explains it. One night they ask me where I was coming from where I was going etc. maybe a run of bad luck

First off, you mentioned your record is clean so that is a huge problem in the fact that your record will turn up positive now for being ARRESTED (I didn't say convicted of anything). It's a matter of public record the arrests police make, regardless of what you are charged with, regardless of whether you get convicted. You can tell your story to any future employer you want but I'm still gonna pick the guy with a clean record all else being equal.

That being said, this can be fixed. Upon an ACQUITTAL, you can have the arrest record expunged, but depending on your state, you may need a lawyer to help you file the right paperwork. Your employers will never see it, but it will still turn up if you want to work for the FBI or something.

Did he give you a ticket/citation or do you have to go to a court date? If he gave you a ticket, you can prob just go in and tell your side of the story, and if things go to crap, immediately request a stay of the hearing and find yourself a lawyer.

If you got a court date and everything in front of a judge, you probably want a lawyer. $2g's now can save a lifetime of headache from this.

I am not a lawyer. What I offer is not legal advice. I only offer what I would do in a similar situation.

No advice but I would also ask in the political forum...not because they know more, just to get as many responses as possible. GL
