How Many Of You Have More Than One Job?

Got three myself. The hard part is coordinating them so that I don't have to be in more than one place at a time. Sorry if you are out of work and I am screwing you up (probably not - none of the jobs pay enough, one of which is commission-based and economy affected and none have healthcare)

I suppose it is better than being unemployed but not by much. Anyone else beating themselves into the ground just to pay bills?

does hustling and banging count? i'm small time though, just a small group of clientele. And i do small plumbing jobs and painting and some drywall, yardwork, etc. Basically i'm a jack of all trades, except electrical. i'm always finding or getting a call from someone looking for cheap work.

While I commend you, why are you hanging around a gambling forum?

While I commend you, why are you hanging around a gambling forum?

My "day" work is on a computer. It is easy to minimize the window and read the baord every so often. I only bet the NFL (games primarily one day a week makes it easy for me to follow) but in the offseason I still enjoy the conversation of the board in regards to the world of sports.

In many ways I have "given up" on finding one fulltime job with benefits that pays the bills. Sad to say that but I pretty much have. So I am lucky I have "three" as many cannot have or get "one".

In this case you should not be gambling on any sport. So you gamble money away that you don't have and now my tax money is going to go to you so you have insurance. Ain't that a bitch.

Don't give up looking for a real job. Keep fighting the fight.

I was in training during one while working another. My manager could see how dog tired I was and called me out in front of everyone but not directly. He went on some rant about working a 2nd job and being too tired to do the job effectively and that anyone doing that "shouldnt be here". So I quit the second job to focus more on the first. (I'm glad I did)

It's killer doing 14 hours a day. And then add in the driving. One job I had there was unlimited OT, I did 80+ hours week after week, that was like working 3 jobs but at least I didnt have to drive all over.

Sometimes you get into a good rhythm and you forget how tired you are or how many hours you are working. You just think about that nice check you will get.

I worked (until recently) 7 to 4 at my primary job, then did either 4 to 12 at a fish counter, or at culinary school - depending on the day of the week... It was good to be busy, I miss it now.

your tax money eh? your the same guy milking the system with your unemployment check you get every week. you dont got any tax money going out lol.

His money paid for the unemployment money pool, so he is just as entitled. Also, he is taxed on the unemployment benefits.

I'm not sure why "unemployment" even exists. Talk about motivation NOT to get a job for folks needing capital :ohno:

Yeah right unemployment makes it so much better than working and making more money. Saving retirement money in my 401K. Not putting all the stress on my wife. And also the feeling of failure. Yeah right unemployment is fucking great.

Nah I understand. "Never more than one can afford to lose". Which might be a different (lower) number this football season compared to last season.

I feel badly for the unemployed as well. It is very tough out there and frankly we are only two months from company's/employer's "fourth quarter crunch" where less hiring is done even in normal times.
