Generally speaking is it better to wait until just before a game starts to place your bets or would you say that the early the better approach is usually better? I've just started betting on MLB and I haven't paid much attention to the lines. :think2:

my 2 cents

many people say public usually bet favorites. so it follows
if you like favs bet early, dogs, wait.
also, there are public teams in all sports, where as the week
progresses, books get more money, and might move on that money.

what i would suggest, if you put a line on a game, and it got away from you, wait till post, don't panic, it will most likely adjust back where you can get a price closer to your number.

betting later also gives advantage of late lineup changes, umpire rotation
on at least the first game of a series, and a better idea what the public
and wise guys wagered--if that is important to you.

if you follow wise guys, they bet early and late. usually their late bets
are the true wagers, and many locals don't have info to move accordingly
so you might beat your book to the closing number.

a l,ot of shit here---basically if you handicap the game and your line is there--bet it. if you are just a fun bettor, i would say wait till post

good luck,
peace
