saw there ad in the star trib about free 10 dollars of food. got me to check out there site, ended up buying about 50 dollars worth of food, ice cream, etc.

apparently they are legit. im on there route and get the food delivered biweekly. i always wondered what those yellow trucks were for. light came on after i saw the ad.

food is more expensive, but the portions are larger and you have the convenience of the food coming to you.

looks good, this is my first purchase with them though.

i assume someone on here must use them regularly.

I was thinking about this the other day too (Von's here)

It does seem pretty damn convenient to just go online and go shopping for 15 mins rather than driving and spending an hour+ running around with a cart and waiting in line.

For some reason I'd just feel like a douche with a big red Von's truck parked out front and paying $6 for some guy to bring my groceries in

Have Used Them Quite A Bit

Some of their stuff is A1, other not so. Have to learn to pick & choose. They ARE $$, but the convenience is worth it for me. Still need to get dairy, fresh fruit & veggies.

I can imagine - those guys are still out in neighborhoods past 8 PM here in Colorado...the food is decent tho, push up pops are the bomb

they are always hiring around here, actually i can't remember if it is a Schwan's or a place just like it with a different name. But anyway they are always hiring. I met some people in the past that have worked there and basically they have said it sucks unless you have been there a while and have good routes. They said all the newer people get the shit routes and they also said they pressure you to cold call and solicit door-to-door and get sales. One guy i met said he worked there for only a month, said he got stuck with the ghetto route. He was saying "damn people on welfare and live in run down crack houses and they expect me to get sales in that part of town."

delivery guy just came.

cool guy, showed me the catalog, bought frozen yogurt on top of what I already got.

put a couple breadsticks in, oh my god love them. heat some prego dipping sauce, dip them in, good shit.

they got me hooked already.

I have used them as well. You just have to pick and choose what you like to buy. Some good values...some not. Overall it is worth it. I am not sure why I stopped. I almost feel like giving them another shot. I know poeple who use them all the time and I always see there trucks everywhere. I live in Cental PA.

I will say this, Schwan's has some of the best ice cream on the planet.

Helpful Hint from an ice cream connoisseur: When you're buying ice cream, look at the ingredients. If "cream" isn't the first ingredient listed don't buy it.

I've been getting their stuff for 15 years. All in all, its pretty good. One thing I've noticed over the years, the prices have gone up and portions are shrinking.

Yeah. 12-14 a day, five days a week.

It's straight commission, too. Even on good days, when you break it down it was like $6-$7 an hour. This was back in the late 90's.
