Mets/Cardinals discussion

Maybe I'm missing something here but I don't see either side as being that strong of a play. You never know what you'll get from the Mets on any given day and Lohse has been awful when pitching @ the Mets and on the road.

Lohse:
0-2 9.20 ERA 2.18 WHIP @ Mets
0-3 5.73 ERA 1,58 WHIP in 6 away starts this year (Cards are 0-6 when Lohse starts on the road)

Not a lot of info out there on Niese.
0-1 5.82 ERA 1.65 WHIP .324 BAA in 3 home starts (Mets are 1-2 in his home starts)
His lone day start was 4.2 IP 5 ER and 7 H.

Cardinals are:
10-3 O/U on the road with a total of 8-8.5
5.0 runs/game over last 7 games (2-5 O/U last 7)
4.0 runs/game vs LH starters (12-20 O/U)

Mets are:
16/11 O/U when the total is 8-8.5
4.9 runs/game over last 7 games (3-3 O/U last 7)

The total has been over 3 of 5 games @ Mets this year and 5 of 8 games overall between the two teams.

All in all...I don't see a strong play on either team. A small play on the over might be warranted.

I agree, thinking about a small playon the home dog, just for the hell of it.

I like the cards today, mets pitching line up for today is awful, an inconsistent pitcher who is backed up by a bullpen that suck even more is a sure way to lose a game...Stl pitcher isn't exellent either but atleast he has somewhat of a bullpen to back him.if the cards comes out on fire mets a done..bol all...

I like Stl ml and o 8.5

On the Mets again, looks like a trap game. With over 60% on the Cards. The past 2 weeks have been full of traps set by the bookies. Going with a home dog.

That's exactly how I felt when I first looked at the game before seeing everybody on here loving the Cardinals this morning. I can't back Lohse...so now I have to decide if I can back Mets or take a pass.

Lohse hasn't been that bad--- he hasn't been getting much run support if you ask me.

Also, Lohse is better than Niese when pitching during the day (if you're into that kind of stat) ERA 3.00 v. 9.64 respectively.

I think if the Cardinals can put up 4 runs today they will win the game.

Hitters are batting .280 vs Lohse on the road (vs .231 at home) and the Mets have hit .381 vs Lohse in games @ the Mets.
