Its all well and good that this years event will get some interest now the Michelle Wie got picked but really isn't it a bit of a farce.

US have 4 players in the top 20 and Europe 3. It's hardly a display of the best golfers in the womens golf world anymore so what's the point? I mean Korea v rest of the world may be a better competition in this day and age.

Korea v World would be tighter than you think.

Wie has no business on that team

wrong... just based on points earned this year , she would be 4th on the list.

she is something like 15th on the money list this year after playing a limited schedule that didnt include the u s open.

she earned her way on.

Wie is the 6th ranked US player on the world rankings and very high on this years money list.

On all criteria she has earned a way on to the team (in form, ranking, money).

Yes, we all know that she has been disappointing from the potential showed when 14 but if her name wasn't Wie she'd still be on that team having done what she's done this season - would be classed as a highly promising rookie in consistent form.
