As mentioned by several other posters, this is a really hard week in terms of the lines that are out there. I can't take Calgary and the 14.5 the week after every dog won outright. Toronto and Montreal, I'm completely clueless, and I think Hamilton/Edmonton could go either way. That leaves BC/Sask, which could probably fit in with the other three. However, I just can't see a team with this much talent, and probably a ton of desperation, drop to 1-5. They already blew one game in Saskatchewan (thanks to McCallum and Grice-Mullen, among others). If they lose this game, they will officially be playing for 3rd place, which will be a task in itself.

Furthermore, Saskatchewan has got to be the biggest fraud so far this season. How can a team that is 2nd last in total offence and 80 yards away from being last in total yards allowed be above .500? Their quarterback has a propensity for throwing interceptions, which should play into a Lions secondary that can at least boast some decent hands (Phillips, Banks, Miles). Saskatchewan's Wes Cates has been better lately, but you have to hope that the Leos' run defence is improved with JoJuan Armour replacing Javy Glatt.

Looking at the Lions' side of the ball, again this game rests on Buck's ability to distribute the ball. He has to realize by now that teams are double and triple teaming Geroy, so get the ball to Paris and others. Watch the game tape from that 2nd Quarter in Hamilton, and do like you did there. He seemed to be playing with some urgency in that 2nd Quarter, and hopefully he feels the same urgency throughout Friday night, because the starting job could be on the line. The team is not far away from giving young Lulay a shot.

I must take the desperate team, despite a ton of evidence and the fact that the bookies are basing this line on Saskatchewan's performance and not their record. I don't like to predict things, but I think that if Paris Jackson gets over 100 yards, they win this game.

Lions -1 (smallest wager of the young season)
