OT- Replacement Toilet

What is the total cost I am looking at for a replacement toilet, including install.

Not looking for anything fancy. It is in a guest bathroom that is used about 12-15 times a year. Primary concern is that, when we go to sell the house in 3 or 4 years, that we don't need to do anything else at that point and time.

you can get a decent toilet for under 150, and install yourself for free, minus the cost of a new wax ring.

If you are going to have a plumbing service do it, you are looking at anywhere from 175-300 depending on the company.

Best to find a local handyman in the local paper or even at a local bar. you can find someone who will do it for 75 bucks probably, or at least that's what i generally do one for, unless there is problems.

Go to Lowe's and buy the toilet - ~150$
Use their professional services installation - ~100$

For 250$ you have a new toilet professionally installed with a warranty and satisfaction guarantee. That is about as cheap as it comes, and this is coming from a plumbing contractor! :103631605

do it yourself. i'm not the brightest bulb on the tree and i did it. you'll feel a sense of accomplishment next time you sit down to take a monster dump. :dancefool

Exactly, do it yourself. One of my kids tried to flush a plastic dixie cup down the toilet and that damn thing was the perfect size to lodge itself near the bottom. I took the toilet off, removed the cup, replaced the wax ring, and reinstalled the toilet with no problems.
