Mock Draft: Mo-Jo Rising

NFL.com conducted its annual fantasy mock draft in mid-July, with Gregg Rosenthal representing Rotoworld. The league uses standard scoring with a point per reception and a starting lineup consisting of 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 FLEX (RB/WR/TE), 1 K and 1 DST. Below is a round-by-round breakdown and analysis of this year's draft trends.

Editor's Note: For the most up-to-date player rankings, profiles, projections, cheatsheets, and much, much more that will allow you to dominate your fantasy football league, check out the 2009 Rotoworld Football Draft Guide.

Round 1

1. Sirius NFL Radio – Adrian Peterson, RB, Vikings
2. Rotoworld – Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jaguars
3. OPEN Sports.com – Michael Turner, RB, Falcons
4. Krause Publications/Ambrosius – Matt Forte, RB, Bears
5. NFL.com/Rank – Chris Johnson, RB, Titans
6. KFFL.com – LaDainian Tomlinson, RB, Chargers
7. ESPN.com – Steven Jackson, RB, Rams
8. SI.com – Steve Slaton, RB, Texans
9. RotoExperts.com – Clinton Portis, RB, Redskins
10. FantasyGuru.com – Andre Johnson, WR, Texans
11. NFL.com/Fabiano – Frank Gore, RB, 49ers
12. Krause Publications/Kessenich – DeAngelo Williams, RB, Panthers

Analysis: Even in a PPR league, Peterson's potential for a monster season makes him the pick at No. 1. Rosenthal, a Tulane grad, bucked conventional wisdom and bypassed former Green Wave star Forte in favor of Jones-Drew. As a touchdown machine with a shot at 60+ receptions, MJD's value is on the rise. Portis was a surprise pick a full round before his ADP of 2.09. Though Larry Fitzgerald has been the consensus top wide receiver, Andre Johnson went off the board first. Every-down backs Steve Jackson and Frank Gore remain two of the first-rounds biggest bargains.

Round 2

13. Krause Publications/Kessenich – Larry Fitzgerald, WR, Cardinals
14. NFL.com/Fabiano – Calvin Johnson, WR, Lions
15. FantasyGuru.com – Randy Moss, WR, Patriots
16. RotoExperts.com – Brandon Jacobs, RB, Giants
17. SI.com – Brian Westbrook, RB, Eagles
18. ESPN.com – Steve Smith, WR, Panthers
19. KFFL.com – Marion Barber, RB, Cowboys
20. NFL.com/Rank – Anquan Boldin, WR, Cardinals
21. Krause Publications/Ambrosius – Reggie Wayne, WR, Colts
22. OPEN Sports.com – Tom Brady, QB, Patriots
23. Rotoworld – Roddy White, WR, Falcons
24. Sirius NFL Radio – Greg Jennings, WR, Packers

Analysis: With three wideouts kicking off the round, it's clear that the experts see a slight dropoff at running back between DeAngelo Williams and Brandon Jacobs. Eight receivers came off the board, which is not unusual for a PPR league. Drew Brees has been going as early as mid-first in many drafts, but no quarterback was selected here until Brady in the late second. Roddy White may begin to move ahead of Wayne and Boldin now that he's signed and in camp.

Round 3

25. Sirius NFL Radio – Jason Witten, TE, Cowboys
26. Rotoworld – Marques Colston, WR, Saints
27. OPEN Sports.com – Ronnie Brown, RB, Dolphins
28. Krause Publications/Ambrosius – Drew Brees, QB, Saints
29. NFL.com/Rank – Knowshon Moreno, RB, Broncos
30. KFFL.com – Wes Welker, WR, Patriots
31. ESPN.com – Pierre Thomas, RB, Saints
32. SI.com – T.J. Houshmandzadeh, WR, Seahawks
33. RotoExperts.com – Terrell Owens, WR, Bills
34. FantasyGuru.com – Reggie Bush, RB, Saints
35. NFL.com/Fabiano – Dwayne Bowe, WR, Chiefs
36. Krause Publications/Kessenich – Brandon Marshall, WR, Broncos

Analysis: Witten, the first tight end to come off the board, goes a round and half higher than his 4.05 ADP. The draft's top rookie, Moreno, is a fine selection in PPR leagues, and he's beginning to put separation between himself and Beanie Wells. Bush's knee issues weren't enough to offset the potential for 80+ catches, though he does remain behind fast-rising Thomas. A risk/reward pick, teammate Colston has had no setbacks with his own surgically repaired knee.

Round 4

37. Krause Publications/Kessenich – Kevin Smith, RB, Lions
38. NFL.com/Fabiano – Peyton Manning, QB, Colts
39. FantasyGuru.com – Derrick Ward, RB, Bucs
40. RotoExperts.com – Roy Williams, WR, Cowboys
41. SI.com – Marshawn Lynch, RB, Bills
42. ESPN.com – Antonio Bryant, WR, Bucs
43. KFFL.com – Chad Ochocinco, WR, Bengals
44. NFL.com/Rank – Darren McFadden, RB, Raiders
45. Krause Publications/Ambrosius – Ryan Grant, RB, Packers
46. OPEN Sports.com – Santonio Holmes, WR, Steelers
47. Rotoworld – Braylon Edwards, WR, Browns
48. Sirius NFL Radio – Vincent Jackson, WR, Chargers

Analysis: Manning continues to be one of the draft's best values, going 16 picks after Tom Brady. The Smith selection proves you can still grab a rock-solid RB2 after the first three rounds. The three-game suspension, offensive line concerns and Fred Jackson's nagging presence weren't enough to precipitously drop Lynch. Breakout candidate McFadden is an astute pick in the PPR format while Grant's value falls off a bit. V-Jax is a perfect high-upside selection as a WR2.

Round 5

49. Sirius NFL Radio – Thomas Jones, RB, Jets
50. Rotoworld – Antonio Gates, TE, Chargers
51. OPEN Sports.com – Eddie Royal, WR, Broncos
52. Krause Publications/Ambrosius – Tony Gonzalez, TE, Falcons
53. NFL.com/Rank – Lance Moore, WR, Saints
54. KFFL.com – Jonathan Stewart, RB, Panthers
55. ESPN.com – Anthony Gonzalez, WR, Colts
56. SI.com – DeSean Jackson, WR, Eagles
57. RotoExperts.com – LenDale White, RB, Titans
58. FantasyGuru.com – Philip Rivers, QB, Chargers
59. NFL.com/Fabiano – Joseph Addai, RB, Colts
60. Krause Publications/Kessenich – Aaron Rodgers, QB, Packers

Analysis: Even with Leon Washington and rookie Shonn Greene threatening to make the Jets' backfield a three-pronged attack, Jones is still being drafted as a RB2. LenDale White continues to go several rounds too early, especially in a PPR league. With just one 100-yard rushing game in the last year and a half and now contending with a first-round rookie, Addai's value is sinking. As in most drafts, Rivers and Rodgers are the next QBs off the board after the Big Three.

<!--RW-->

Round 6

61. Krause Publications/Kessenich – Dallas Clark, TE, Colts
62. NFL.com/Fabiano – Donald Brown, RB, Colts
63. FantasyGuru.com – Chris Wells, RB, Cardinals
64. RotoExperts.com – Kevin Walter, WR, Texans
65. SI.com – Felix Jones, RB, Cowboys
66. ESPN.com – Kurt Warner, QB, Cardinals
67. KFFL.com – Lee Evans, WR, Bills
68. NFL.com/Rank – Tony Romo, QB, Cowboys
69. Krause Publications/Ambrosius – Larry Johnson, RB, Chiefs
70. OPEN Sports.com – Willie Parker, RB, Steelers
71. Rotoworld – Ray Rice, RB, Ravens
72. Sirius NFL Radio – Donovan McNabb, QB, Eagles

Analysis: A handcuff pick, Brown was the second rookie drafted. Wells came just one pick later, though his recent ankle injury will cause a slide in upcoming drafts. Undrafted a year ago Walter is receiving plenty of respect this year, even being selected ahead of WR2 Lee Evans. Unlike last season, Rice is now the pick ahead of fellow Ravens Willis McGahee and LeRon McClain in all drafts. Warner, Romo and McNabb comprise the third tier of QBs, proving you can fill out your running backs and receivers first and still grab a top-notch signal caller.

Round 7

73. Sirius NFL Radio – Bernard Berrian, WR, Vikings
74. Rotoworld – Jerricho Cotchery, WR, Jets
75. OPEN Sports.com – Laveranues Coles, WR, Bengals
76. Krause Publications/Ambrosius – Hines Ward, WR, Steelers
77. NFL.com/Rank – Donnie Avery, WR, Rams
78. KFFL.com – Matt Schaub, QB, Texans
79. ESPN.com – Greg Olsen, TE, Bears
80. SI.com – Matt Ryan, QB, Falcons
81. RotoExperts.com – LeSean McCoy, RB, Eagles
82. FantasyGuru.com – Devin Hester, WR, Bears
83. NFL.com/Fabiano – Santana Moss, WR, Redskins
84. Krause Publications/Kessenich – Donald Driver, WR, Packers

Analysis: Scrambling to fill out their starting lineups, the experts selected eight WR3 candidates in the seventh round. Avery's value is sure to slide with his recent ankle injury while Santana Moss should see a slight rebound as a borderline WR2. Now No. 1 on the depth chart with Jay Cutler in town, Olsen has solidified himself as a Top-8 tight end. McCoy was snapped up before SI.com had a chance to grab him as Westbrook's handcuff.

Round 8

85. Krause Publications/Kessenich – Darren Sproles, RB, Chargers
86. NFL.com/Fabiano – Chris Cooley, TE, Redskins
87. FantasyGuru.com – Torry Holt, WR, Jaguars
88. RotoExperts.com – Jay Cutler, QB, Bears
89. SI.com – Steve Breaston, WR, Cardinals
90. ESPN.com – Cedric Benson, RB, Bengals
91. KFFL.com – Owen Daniels, TE, Texans
92. NFL.com/Rank – Domenik Hixon, WR, Giants
93. Krause Publications/Ambrosius – Michael Crabtree, WR, 49ers
94. OPEN Sports.com – Kellen Winslow, TE, Bucs
95. Rotoworld – Carson Palmer, QB, Bengals
96. Sirius NFL Radio – Derrick Mason, WR, Ravens

Analysis: The presence of fantasy stalwarts Cooley, Daniels and Winslow serves as a useful reminder to wait on tight ends this year. Cutler's trade to Chicago has dropped him from a Top-5 option to borderline starter status. Hixon and Steve Smith have been alternating as the top Giants receiver off the board. A threat to reach 300 carries this season, Benson is one of the best values available. Crabtree is sure to fall behind Pervy Harvin as the first rookie receiver drafted.

Round 9

97. Sirius NFL Radio – Julius Jones, RB, Seahawks
98. Rotoworld – Earnest Graham, RB, Bucs
99. OPEN Sports.com – Jamal Lewis, RB, Browns
100. Krause Publications/Ambrosius – Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Steelers
101. NFL.com/Rank – Ted Ginn, WR, Dolphins
102. KFFL.com – Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Steelers
103. ESPN.com – Shonn Greene, RB, Jets
104. SI.com – Percy Harvin, WR, Vikings
105. RotoExperts.com – John Carlson, TE, Seahawks
106. FantasyGuru.com – Jamaal Charles, RB, Chiefs
107. NFL.com/Fabiano – Willis McGahee, RB, Ravens
108. Krause Publications/Kessenich – Leon Washington, RB, Jets

Analysis: The story of round nine is Harvin, who is beginning to storm up the draft boards now that the cat is out of the bag in Minnesota. You'll have to grab him a couple of rounds earlier if you have your sights set on the explosive rookie. Eight running backs were selected, including two Jets. Greene, a possible touchdown vulture, was chosen ahead of Washington, who figures to receive more touches. McGahee will continue his freefall with Rice receiving high praise while running with the first-team offense.

Round 10

109. Krause Publications/Kessenich – Muhsin Muhammad, WR, Panthers
110. NFL.com/Fabiano – Deion Branch, WR, Seahawks
111. FantasyGuru.com – Visanthe Shiancoe, TE, Vikings
112. RotoExperts.com – Matt Hasselbeck, QB, Seahawks
113. SI.com – Fred Jackson, RB, Bills
114. ESPN.com – Steve Smith, WR, Giants
115. KFFL.com – Laurence Maroney, RB, Patriots
116. NFL.com/Rank – Zach Miller, TE, Raiders
117. Krause Publications/Ambrosius – Jeremy Maclin, WR, Eagles
118. OPEN Sports.com – Nate Washington, WR, Titans
119. Rotoworld – Matt Cassel, QB, Chiefs
120. Sirius NFL Radio – Chris Chambers, WR, Chargers

Analysis: Jackson is a mandatory handcuff for Lynch owners, who may be forced to draft him as a RB3. Maroney is the first member of Patriots' quagmire-by-committee to be selected, though an argument can be made for any of the four. Drafters are making Cassel prove last year was no fluke; he's being drafted as a fantasy backup. Veteran mediocrities Muhammad, Branch and Chambers will slip into the later rounds of many drafts. Miller remains one of the better tight end bargains.

Round 11

121. Sirius NFL Radio – Ricky Williams, RB, Dolphins
122. Rotoworld – Michael Bush, RB, Raiders
123. OPEN Sports.com – Jerious Norwood, RB, Falcons
124. Krause Publications/Ambrosius – Patrick Crayton, WR, Cowboys
125. NFL.com/Rank – Ahmad Bradshaw, RB, Giants
126. KFFL.com – Mark Clayton, WR, Ravens
127. ESPN.com – Justin Gage, WR, Titans
128. SI.com – Anthony Fasano, TE, Dolphins
129. RotoExperts.com – Tim Hightower, RB, Cardinals
130. FantasyGuru.com – Miles Austin, WR, Cowboys
131. NFL.com/Fabiano – Sammy Morris, RB, Patriots
132. Krause Publications/Kessenich – Greg Camarillo, WR, Dolphins

Analysis: Running back fliers were the rage in round eleven. Williams, Bush, Norwood, Bradshaw and Hightower would all have weekly value if given a shot at regular carries. Hightower's value will certainly rise with Beanie Wells being sidelined by an ankle injury early in camp. Cowboys receivers Crayton and Austin were just six picks apart, but the gap should widen with Crayton being named the starter.

Round 12

133. Krause Publications/Kessenich – David Garrard, QB, Jaguars
134. NFL.com/Fabiano – Kevin Curtis, WR, Eagles
135. FantasyGuru.com – Fred Taylor, RB, Patriots
136. RotoExperts.com – Nate Burleson, WR, Seahawks
137. SI.com – Kyle Orton, QB, Broncos
138. ESPN.com – Eli Manning, QB, Giants
139. KFFL.com – Josh Morgan, WR, 49ers
140. NFL.com/Rank – Trent Edwards, QB, Bills
141. Krause Publications/Ambrosius – LeRon McClain, RB, Ravens
142. OPEN Sports.com – Devone Bess, WR, Dolphins
143. Rotoworld – Mark Bradley, WR, Chiefs
144. Sirius NFL Radio – Chester Taylor, RB, Vikings

Analysis: Four backup quarterbacks were selected, highlighting Eli Manning's falloff from last summer. The improvement in weapons for Orton and Edwards lends them some intriguing upside. McClain has a shot at double digit touchdowns for the second year in a row, but he'll see a drop in carries and receptions. With no end in sight to the Crabtree holdout, Morgan will start going off the board as the first 49ers receiver selected. Target him before round twelve.

Round 13

145. Sirius NFL Radio – Eagles Defense
146. Rotoworld – Jerome Harrison, RB, Browns
147. OPEN Sports.com – Steelers Defense
148. Krause Publications/Ambrosius – Ravens Defense
149. NFL.com/Rank – Joey Galloway, WR, Patriots
150. KFFL.com – Tashard Choice, RB, Cowboys
151. ESPN.com – Giants Defense
152. SI.com – Glen Coffee, RB, 49ers
153. RotoExperts.com – Earl Bennett, WR, Bears
154. FantasyGuru.com – Dustin Keller, TE, Jets
155. NFL.com/Fabiano – Joe Flacco, QB, Ravens
156. Krause Publications/Kessenich – Kevin Faulk, RB, Patriots

Analysis: It was the Eagles – not the Steelers -- that started a too-early run on defenses. Stewart Bradley's injury and the passing of legendary coach Jim Johnson will drop the Philly defense to the second tier in the upcoming weeks. Choice is a mandatory handcuff for Marion Barber owners. Harrison and Bennett have received ample sleeper hype. Coffee wasn't drafted by the Frank Gore owner, which won't happen often. Keller, a potential TE1, is the round's best value.

Round 14

157. Krause Publications/Kessenich – Jeremy Shockey, TE, Saints
158. NFL.com/Fabiano – Kevin Boss, TE, Giants
159. FantasyGuru.com – Vikings Defense
160. RotoExperts.com – Plaxico Burress, WR, Free Agent
161. SI.com – Jets Defense
162. ESPN.com – Hakeem Nicks, WR, Giants
163. KFFL.com – Chargers Defense
164. NFL.com/Rank – Patriots Defense
165. Krause Publications/Ambrosius – Tony Scheffler, TE, Broncos
166. OPEN Sports.com – T.J. Duckett, RB, Seahawks
167. Rotoworld – James Jones, WR, Packers
168. Sirius NFL Radio – Brett Favre, QB, Free Agent

Analysis: In Plaxico Burress and Brett Favre, round fourteen features two players who will go undrafted in most leagues. Four more defenses came off the board, with Rex Ryan's Jets becoming a chic Top-6 pick this season. The Patriots and Chargers should see bounce-backs after disappointing last year. Shockey and Scheffler are TE2 picks with the potential for TE1 production.

Round 15

169. Sirius NFL Radio – Justin Fargas, RB, Raiders
170. Rotoworld – Cowboys Defense
171. OPEN Sports.com – Isaac Bruce, WR, 49ers
172. Krause Publications/Ambrosius – Stephen Gostkowski, K, Patriots
173. NFL.com/Rank – Chris Henry, WR, Bengals
174. KFFL.com – Andre Brown, RB, Giants
175. ESPN.com – Correll Buckhalter, RB, Broncos
176. SI.com – Bobby Engram, WR, Chiefs
177. RotoExperts.com – Titans Defense
178. FantasyGuru.com – Devin Thomas, WR, Redskin s
179. NFL.com/Fabiano – Dolphins Defense
180. Krause Publications/Kessenich – Packers Defense

Analysis: The Cowboys are the best of the remaining defenses while owners will soon find out that the Titans will miss Albert Haynesworth. Though Buckhalter technically has a chance to start, the rookie Moreno will kill his fantasy value. Henry has used a terrific offseason as a springboard to fantasy relevance once again. Now expected to start opposite Santana Moss, Thomas will go a few rounds higher in upcoming drafts.

Round 16

181. Krause Publications/Kessenich – Jason Elam, K, Falcons
182. NFL.com/Fabiano – Rob Bironas, K, Titans
183. FantasyGuru.com – David Akers, K, Eagles
184. RotoExperts.com – Garrett Hartley, K, Saints
185. SI.com – Lawrence Tynes, K, Giants
186. ESPN.com – Nate Kaeding, K, Chargers
187. KFFL.com – Mason Crosby, K, Packers
188. NFL.com/Rank – Ryan Longwell, K, Vikings
189. Krause Publications/Ambrosius – Jake Delhomme, QB, Panthers
190. OPEN Sports.com – Robbie Gould, K, Bears
191. Rotoworld – Nick Folk, K, Cowboys
192. Sirius NFL Radio – Kris Brown, K, Texans

Analysis: Eleven of the twelve experts waited until the draft's final round to draft a kicker, which is no surprise. Eminently replaceable, kickers are wasted picks earlier in the draft. As accurate dome kickers in high-powered offenses, Elam, Hartley and Longwell are three kickers to target this season

Expert league draft breakdown

On Tuesday night, I had the prestigious honor of representing Rotoworld in the SOFA (Site Owners Football Association) fantasy draft.

The league is 10-team, standard point-per-reception style. It will be played out if you wish to follow along. The rosters look like this:

QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, Flex (RB, WR, or TE), K, D, 8 Bench

I had one goal going in: Don't tarnish the fine Rotoworld name. We'll find out at the end of the year how that turns out.

So here's a breakdown of what happened, round by round.

ROUND 1
1.01 - Adrian Peterson, Rotoworld
1.02 - LaDainian Tomlinson, KFFL
1.03 - Matt Forte, Fantasyfootball.com
1.04 - Maurice Jones-Drew, Rotoexperts
1.05 - Chris Johnson, Fantasy Insights
1.06 - Steven Jackson, Fantasy Guru
1.07 - Andre Johnson, Footballguys.com
1.08 - Larry Fitzgerald, Sports Weekly
1.09 - DeAngelo Williams, Sports Grumblings
1.10 - Frank Gore, The Huddle

Controversy at the top: I really struggled with who to take No. 1 overall in this format, Peterson or Jones-Drew. In the end, Peterson having a clear handcuff and Jones-Drew being in his first year as the full-time back swayed me. It's a little scary that Peterson finished seventh among running backs in this format last season.

Pick I hate: I would have gone with Steve Slaton over DeAngelo Williams in this format. Williams has a much tougher schedule than last season, is still dealing with Jonathan Stewart and will have some "law of averages" regression in his touchdowns.

ROUND 2
2.01 - Randy Moss, The Huddle
2.02 - Steve Slaton, Sports Grumblings
2.03 - Michael Turner, Sports Weekly
2.04 - Calvin Johnson, Footballguys
2.05 - Greg Jennings, Fantasy Guru
2.06. - Reggie Wayne, Fantasy Insights
2.07 - Marion Barber, Rotoexperts
2.08 - Brian Westbrook, Fantasyfootball.com
2.09 - Clinton Portis, KFFL
2.10 - Marques Colston, Rotoworld

One off: It's tough to poke holes in many of the guys in this round. The only pick I don't like is Portis. He's clearly on the downside of his career and since KFFL took Tomlinson in the first round I think they could have gone with Colston, Steve Smith or Roddy White and been better off.

ROUND 3
3.01 - Ronnie Brown, Rotoworld
3.02 - Roddy White, KFFL
3.03 - Steve Smith, Fantasyfootball.com
3.04 - Pierre Thomas, Rotoexperts
3.05 - Kevin Smith, Fantasy Insights
3.06 - Brandon Jacobs, Fantasy Guru
3.07 - Darren McFadden, Footballguys
3.08 - Wes Welker, Sports Weekly
3.09 - Anquan Boldin, Sports Grumblings
3.10 - Dwayne Bowe, The Huddle

Looking ahead: I thought seriously about taking either Smith or White here. But there are so many more middle-round receivers I love and than middle-round running backs. So even though Ronnie Brown isn't the sexiest pick, I wanted to get some stability in the backfield now and leave myself room for those wideouts.

Reach alert: This gives you an idea of how high you're going to have to reach to get McFadden. He has a ton of upside and we like him, but his ADP is skyrocketing.

ROUND 4
4.01 – T.J. Houshmandzadeh, The Huddle
4.02 - Terrell Owens, Sports Grumblings
4.03 - Drew Brees, Sports Weekly
4.04 - Tom Brady, Football Guys
4.05 - Vincent Jackson, Fantasy Guru
4.06 - Jason Witten, Fantasy Insights
4.07 - Peyton Manning, Rotoexperts
4.08 - Ryan Grant, Fantasyfootball
4.09 - Brandon Marshall, KFFL
4.10 - Anthony Gonzalez, Rotoworld

Position note: The first QB not coming off the board until Round 4 is interesting, but in this format (flex spot, PPR) it makes sense. Still, I think Brees and Brady are great value there.

Too deep: Witten this early doesn't make a lot of sense. He's very good, but the tight end position is so deep this season - I think it's unnecessary to take one early.

<!--RW-->

ROUND 5
5.01 – Eddie Royal, Rotoworld
5.02 – Chad Ochocinco, KFFL
5.03 – Santonio Holmes, Fantasyfootball
5.04 – Santana Moss, Rotoexperts
5.05 – Dallas Clark, Fantasy Insights
5.06 – Derrick Ward, Fantasy Guru
5.07 – Reggie Bush, Footballguys
5.08 – Roy Williams, Sports Weekly
5.09 – Hines Ward, Sports Grumblings
5.10 – Antonio Gates, The Huddle

Where's the ceiling: There's just no way I take Santana Moss or Hines Ward. I'm not against senior citizens, but the ceiling on these guys has been established. Again, they're on their way down. I'm looking for upside in these rounds from wideouts.

Explaining Eddie: Astute readers know I wrote a column detailing how receivers who had big rookie years often regress (Royal). I took him because I didn't feel like I was reaching – only Bush tempted me as someone else I would like to have. And in a PPR league, Royal gets a really nice boost.

ROUND 6
6.01 – Ray Rice, The Huddle
6.02 – Lance Moore, Sports Grumblings
6.03 – Marshawn Lynch, Sports Weekly
6.04 – Braylon Edwards, Footballguys
6.05 – Phillip Rivers, Fantasy Guru
6.06 – Aaron Rodgers, Fantasy Insights
6.07 – Tony Gonzalez, Rotoexperts
6.08 – Matt Schaub, Fantasyfootball
6.09 – Knowshon Moreno, KFFL
6.10 – Greg Olsen, Rotoworld

The dagger: When Schaub went I felt like I got stabbed. I really, really wanted him and looked like I was going to get him. Everyone has that moment in their draft, this was mine.

Position run alert: This is where the rest of the quarterbacks fill in. If you want Schaub you know to get in at the top of this run. Articles like Evan's aren't helping Schaub slide back to the middle of this group.

ROUND 7
7.01 – Donovan McNabb, Rotoworld
7.02 – Kurt Warner, KFFL
7.03 – Owen Daniels, Fantasyfootball
7.04 – Jerricho Cotchery, Rotoexperts
7.05 – Kevin Walter, Fantasy Insights
7.06 – Laveranues Coles, Fantasy Guru
7.07 – Larry Johnson, Footballguys
7.08 – Donald Driver, Sports Weekly
7.09 – Chris Cooley, Sports Grumblings
7.10 – Joseph Addai, The Huddle

To wait or not: A lot of times when I get in late on the QB run, I just wait because I know owners aren't going to double up at the position. But it was important to me to get McNabb over Warner or Romo so I pulled the trigger.

Valuetown: We don't like Larry Johnson at all. But in the seventh round that's a very nice pick. Sometimes the value makes you take a guy you hate, and there's nothing wrong with that.

ROUND 8
8.01 – LenDale White, The Huddle
8.02 – Tony Romo, Sports Grumblings
8.03 – Thomas Jones, Sports Weekly
8.04 – Antonio Bryant, Footballguys
8.05 – John Carlson, Fantasy Guru
8.06 – Cedric Benson, Fantasy Insights
8.07 – Felix Jones, Rotoexperts
8.08 – DeSean Jackson, Fantasyfootball
8.09 – Jonathan Stewart, KFFL
8.10 – Chester Taylor, Rotoworld

Handcuffing must: I know I took Taylor way before I needed to. But I simply could not risk missing out on him. Should anything happen to my No. 1 overall pick I don't get destroyed. In fact, I have a very good RB2. Not all handcuffs are this vital, but this one is.

Slippage: I was surprised DeSean Jackson lasted this long in an experts league. The buzz on him has been out of control and while I don't love him, this looks like a steal. I thought he'd be gone by the sixth round for sure.

<!--RW-->

ROUND 9
9.01 – Chris Wells, Rotoworld
9.02 – Lee Evans, KFFL
9.03 – Willie Parker, Fantasyfootball
9.04 – Bernard Berrian, Rotoexperts
9.05 – Steve Smith (NYG) Fantasy Insights
9.06 – Fred Jackson, Fantasy Guru
9.07 – Leon Washington, Footballguys
9.08 – Zach Miller, Sports Weekly
9.09 – Kellen Winslow, Sports Grumblings
9.10 – Donald Brown, The Huddle

Rookie backs: Wells and Brown come off the board here and I think there's good value in both. Wells is tumbling because he hasn't really practiced all summer but he felt like a nice risk/reward play. Brown still a chance to unseat Addai at some point this season and will at least be in a timeshare.

ROUND 10
10.01 – Matt Hasselbeck, The Huddle
10.02 – Ahmad Bradshaw, Sports Grumblings
10.03 – Jerious Norwood, Sports Weekly
10.04 – Dustin Keller, Footballguys
10.05 – Devin Hester, Fantasy Guru
10.06 – Shonn Greene, Fantasy Insights
10.07 – Domenik Hixon, Rotoexperts
10.08 – Torry Holt, Fantasyfootball
10.09 – Jeremy Shockey, KFFL
10.10 – Matt Ryan, Rotoworld

Bye issues: I know that McNabb and Ryan have the same bye week. It's not ideal. In fact, it's bad. But I couldn't believe Ryan was still there in Round 10. McNabb is injury prone so I felt like I couldn't pass Ryan up. I'll worry about the bye week when the time comes, hopefully the waiver wire will be kind to me.

Shine wearing off: Devin Hester was a hot sleeper in the spring, but as you can see here the buzz has come off. He doesn't seem like he's on the same page with Cutler right now and the ADP is sinking.

ROUND 11
11.01 – Davone Bess, Rotoworld
11.02 – Derrick Mason, KFFL
11.03 – Pitt D, Fantasyfootball
11.04 – Brett Favre, Rotoexperts
11.05 – Ted Ginn Jr., Fantasy Insights
11.06 – Josh Morgan, Fantasy Guru
11.07 – Earnest Graham, Footballguys
11.08 – Carson Palmer, Sports Weekly
11.09 – Jamal Lewis, Sports Grumblings
11.10 – Steve Breaston, The Huddle

Reaching is OK: Obviously, Bess is a huge reach here. But in a league where people are on top of the latest sleepers, I didn't want to risk not getting him. Knowing your competition's capabilities is a big factor on draft day. We like Bess a lot in PPR as Evan stated here , and it would have made me sick to see someone else get him so late.

Favre day: Round 11 feels about right for Favre in Minnesota, even though I'd take Palmer over the "annoying one." Anything earlier and you're taking Favre based on his name not his expected production.

ROUND 12
12.01 – Jay Cutler, The Huddle
12.02 – Patrick Crayton, Sports Grumblings
12.03 – Vernon Davis, Sports Weekly
12.04 – Donnie Avery, Footballguys
12.05 – Darren Sproles, Fantasy Guru
12.06 – Eli Manning, Fantasy Insights
12.07 – Cowboys D, Rotoexperts
12.08 – LeSean McCoy, Fantasyfootball
12.09 – Julius Jones, KFFL
12.10 – Tim Hightower, Rotoworld

Late handcuff: Considering how fragile Beanie Wells is, I felt like I need Hightower. I'm hoping I don't have to use him, but if Beanie goes down and I don't have Hightower I'm thin on the bench at running back. For some reason, KFFL didn't feel the need to have Sproles despite spending the No. 2 overall pick on Tomlinson. We don't recommend that. We feel the same way about Sproles as we do about Taylor. Have to have him.

ROUND 13
13.01 – Earl Bennett, Rotoworld
13.02 – Ben Roethlisberger, KFFL
13.03 – Trent Edwards, Fantasyfootball
13.04 – Anthony Fasano, Rotoexperts
13.05 – Nate Washington, Fantasy Insights
13.06 – Michael Bush, Fantasy Guru
13.07 – Jamaal Charles, Footballguys
13.08 – Ricky Williams, Sports Weekly
13.09 – Matt Cassell, Sports Grumblings
13.10 – Willis McGahee, The Huddle

TE sleeper: I wanted Fasano as my backup tight end and thought I could wait another round. I was wrong. Looking back I probably would have rather had Fasano than Bennett.

Mistake No. 2: Bad job by me not getting Ricky Williams. Again, it leaves me a little thin at running back if something happens to Ronnie Brown. No excuses, I screwed up.

ROUND 14
14.01 – Visanthe Shiancoe, The Huddle
14.02 – Bo Scaife, Sports Grumblings
14.03 – Vikings D
14.04 – Brent Celek, Footballguys
14.05 – Matt Stafford, Fantasy Guru
14.06 – Stephen Gostkowski, Fantasy Insights
14.07 – Kevin Curtis, Rotoexperts
14.08 – Miles Austin, Fantasyfootball
14.09 – Percy Harvin, KFFL
14.10 – Rashard Mendenhall, Rotoworld

Kicking early: I don't hate the Gostkowski pick as much as some might. I still recommend waiting until the last round for your kicker, but if you think Gostkowski will be the best kicker by a wide margin, it's an OK pick. As for the kickers that went in the next round, I'm really against that.

No hype Percy: I was a little surprised Harvin lasted this long, especially after Wess' column on the rookie and Favre signing that afternoon. If you want him it's another case where you'll have to know your competition.

ROUND 15
15.01 – Robert Meachem, Rotoworld
15.02 – Giants D, KFFL
15.03 – Rob Bironas, Fantasyfootball
15.04 – Rashad Jennings, Rotoexperts
15.05 – Ravens D, Fantasy Insights
15.06 – Mike Walker, Fantasy Guru
15.07 – David Garrard, Footballguys
15.08 – Nate Burleson, Sports Weekly
15.09 – Mason Crosby, Sports Grumbling
15.10 – Eagles D, The Huddle

Shaky handcuff: Rotoexperts got Jones-Drew and Jennings, which is fine. But to speak to my earlier decision on the No. 1 pick, I'm sure they won't be happy if they have to plug Jennings in for a few weeks.

Wideout fliers: Meachem and Walker are both solid deeper than deep wide receiver sleepers. In a 18-round league like this, we like them.

ROUND 16
16.01 – Laurent Robinson, The Huddle
16.02 – Titans D, Sports Grumblings
16.03 – Patriots D, Sports Weekly
16.04 – Chargers D, Footballguys
16.05 – Jets D, Fantasy Guru
16.06 – Ryan Longwell, Fantasy Insights
16.07 – Chris Chambers, Rotoexperts
16.08 – Justin Gage, Fantasyfootball
16.09 – Laurence Maroney, KFFL
16.10 – Heath Miller, Rotoworld

Defense run: The third-to-last round is usually where the defenses go. I would have liked to have a good one, but it's not a priority. I'll play the matchups using the wire each week and be fine with it. I even thought about not taking a defense or a kicker in this draft but league rules are that there are no waiver pickups until after Week 1.

Flier alert: I like the Maroney pick by KFFL at this point. Is it going to work out? Probably not. It is worth it in the 16th round? Absolutely.

ROUND 17
17.01 – Packers D, Rotoworld
17.02 – Fred Taylor, KFFL
17.03 – Jermichael Finley, Fantasyfootball
17.04 – Peyton Hillis, Rotoexperts
17.05 – Kevin Faulk, Fantasy Insights
17.06 – Kevin Boss, Fantasy Guru
17.07 – Muhsin Muhammad, Footballguys
17.08 – David Akers, Sports Weekly
17.09 – Michael Crabtree, Sports Grumblings
17.10 – Nate Kaeding, The Huddle

Holdout mess: I like the Crabtree pick here, just in case he gets into camp soon. If he doesn't, Sports Grumblings can just cut him. If it weren't for the holdout he would have gone about seven rounds earlier.

ROUND 18
18.01 – Glen Coffee, The Huddle
18.02 – Joe Flacco, Sports Grumblings
18.03 – Robbie Gould, Sports Weekly
18.04 – Lawrence Tynes, Footballguys
18.05 – Kris Brown, Fantasy Guru
18.06 – Dolphins D, Fantasy Insights
18.07 – Jason Elam, Rotoexperts
18.08 – Bernard Scott, Fantasyfootball
18.09 – John Kasay, KFFL
18.10 – John Carney, Rotoworld

Weird rule: Again, since we can't make pickups before Week 1 I was forced to take a kicker here and a defense earlier. If I could, I probably would have taken someone like Le'Ron McClain and gone to the wire for my kicker. Although I do like Carney a little bit with that Saints offense.

ROTOWORLD'S PROJECTED WEEK 1 ROSTER
