I like the standart Internet Explorer, although #8 has some things I don't like about it.

I'd say that the majority who don't use Int explorer prefer Firefox.

So you are currently using Internet Explorer #7 & why are you considering a change C.P.?

To give you an example C.P........

Before I upgraded to #8, some of the banners & Links at the top of the page here at TheRX were out of whack on my end.

Not anymore....

I use IE 8. I'm used to it and know it inside and out.

Won't say it's the best, because I havent used much else. So I can't make a fair comparison.

I like the multi tabs, the ease of use and the way everything is laid out.

Microsoft is proactive about updating their software, I like that also.

Firefox, far and away. It has the best combination of speed, security, open-source support and correct rendering of Web pages.

Chrome and Safari are good for speed, but they don't have nearly as many add-ons and extensions available as Firefox.

Explorer is the worst of the major browsers, and it's not even close. 7 and 8 are major improvements over IE6 (one of the worst browser ever created) but they are still slow, terribly insecure and full of bugs that don't render all Web pages correctly.

I use IE 8 and am satisfied. I also have downloaded Firefox. Firefox is faster but I am not as familiar with all of it's uses so I don't use it much.

IMO the best one as of this date is Firefox 3.5.1 the firefox 3.5.2 has some bugs and will not work with all programs etc and again the ie 8 is just bad at this time.Hands down here Firefox 3.5.1 is the best way to go and i have talk to several tech guys across the country the last few days and it will work with most programs on the net.gl.........ck

Internet Explorer today is what AOL was in the early '90s. When a person buys a new computer they almost always come with IE already on it. Like when AOL was carpet bombing the country with CDs, IE is just THERE and easy to get to.

But once AOL's base found there are better ways of accessing the Web, they left. And when Web users today finally try a different browser and see the many benefits, IE usually loses that person for good. Very few people switch back to Explorer after getting familiar with Firefox.

To put the the typical Web user in perspective, though, think of this: The singlemost commonly used browser right now is STILL IE6. That damned browser -- buggy, slow, dangerously insecure -- was released in August of 2001.

If I never, ever use IE again, that will be fine by me. I downloaded Chrome and love it. I tried Opera today on a whim but didn't like it as much.

Holy fuck I hate Microsoft. The browser would lock up on me 3-4 times a week and I would lose everything I had pulled up. In 6 weeks, Chrome has yet to lock up and it is BLAZINGLY fast.
