It's another promising, crucial step in Brady's recovery from a torn MCL and ACL. He'll probably only get in a series or two, but this will be the first time Brady's faced contact since Week 1 of 2008. It'll be well worth tuning in.

Quite surprising they are putting him out there considering his injury and the fact that he already knows the offense.

Don't think it is surprising at all. Timing, rhythm are so important for a QB and you can't treat the guy with kid gloves the rest of his career. He needs his reps just like everyone else....Look at PManning last year, had a slow start because he didn't get much preseason action. Even a series or two goes a long way towards getting into a rhythm and all that...

He was in a similar situation last preseason and Belichick opted to not let him get a snap... so I really didn't think he'd be playing in the first game while he still recovers this year.

doubt he plays long tonight, but he does need to get that feeling of being on the field in a game.
