I have learned to cut the animal's nails first, before doing this, Cutting the nails pisses off the cat somewhat, but a good precaution !

I only bathe the cat, like once a year, as it is... it's tough.... fur goes flying, I came out without a scratch this year, got Lucky !

I respect Groomers. The Fucking cat will be spooning with me in bed tonight but the annual bath is a horrible experience, for both of us. I usually come out bleeding!

You want to to see the the Best pound for pound fighter ? Give a housecat a bath !

It's definitely a 2 person job.

If you regularly bath them since the time they are kittens, they do OK.

If you take an adult cat and just randomly decide to bath it, probably going to want to rip your face off. A cats first instinct is to SURVIVE.

Same here. I keep her indoors and she can clean her own damn self.

The thing that pisses me off lately is she will sit a few feet away from me and stare at me like a psycho.
Because she wants me to use the laser pointer pen so she can chase the red dot.

Mt cat Marcus stays indoors, and thank god he's never gotten into anything to the extent that I'd have to bathe him as I'm not sure I'd survive the process... Its crazy when they dig their nails in and start climbing over you to get away...

My daughter house sits for her Grandmas cat a few times a year and that sucker will jump in the tub with her. Can't do dishes or brush your teeth either without the cat trying to get in the sink. Fucker loves water.

Indoor cat here, but she still needs a bath once a year, can get a bit smelly with a year between baths, needs a little help once in awhile, Cat does sleep with me, afterall !

I sure don't enjoy the experience of this annual event !

licking your fur suffices for the most part, but a once a year wet bath is needed, IMO !

I have to cut her nails about every two weeks, also. I don't declaw.

Most hate water.

I consider myself fortunate to bathe Cooter without a scratch or bite.

when u take the cat to the vets, tell them you will be traveling soon on a long care ride or flight and would like some tranquilizers for the cat. give them to the cat prior to the bath.

I named the cat after the "Dukes of Hazzard character". Cat is female, I honestly didn't know Cooter was Southern slang for pussy, at that time !

Sure fits, though !

Chick at the fix'em clinic knew though.... "Here's your Cooter, back !" , she said. :laugh:

Cooter isn't really a New England term for pussy.
