Rangers have six stolen bases so far, (three in this fourth inning alone)Andrus made Varitek look stupid on a pitchout where he still managed to steal the base.
The six stolen bases tonight boosts Variteks stolen bases against to 90 for the season, a whopping 17 more than the second worst (AJ) in the majors.
His 15 would be baserunners thrown out ranks almost dead last in the majors.

Did I mention Varitek is 3 for 30 at the plate for the month of August coming in to tonights game?

Thats what V-Mart is for, at least with the bat. Sooner or later Francona will pull the plug on the captain

He isnt what he use to be but he is usually in the bottom of the pack because everybody and their mom steals off Wakefield-

Actually, Varitek always gets the day off when Wakefied pitches.

However, the rest of the staff does a horrid job of holding base runners as well.

He would have a shot if fat ass Penny didn't take a lifetime to release the ball, come on. That isn't Tek's fault.

Varitek took forever to get rid of the ball as well.
It was a team effort.

I'd seriously consider leaving him off the playoff roster.

Like Pig says, he can't throw anybody out, he sure isn't a pinch hitter, either.

But you do need a back-up catcher, so he'll make the roster.

Tek is not good at either defense or offense, time to dump him next year, for sure. VM is much better.

was at the game on friday nite and sat 20 rows behind home plate...he just looks really, really slow....behind the plate and at it...he gets absolutely nothing from his arm into the throws to 2nd..and when the sox started to get to joba(i believe in the 4th)2nd and 3rd no out and he swings at the very first pitch which from my view point was eye level?...that's just bad baseball

He won't even get a major league contract offer most likely after this year.
